About this restaurant

A traditional pub serving contemporary English food in the heart of Fitzrovia. The Lore is composed of The Pub on the ground floor, The Kitchen on the first floor and Private room with bar on the top floor.

All of our food is freshly prepared by Head Chef Michal Kaszuba and his brigade in the Lore kitchen on the first floor. Our menus have been created especially to reflect the seasons, when ingredients are at their very best.
Our legendary Sunday roast is slow-cooked with delicious trimmings.

THE PUB
A copper and pewter topped bar serving a range of beers, including our very own Gritchie brews, premium spirits, cocktails and selected wines. The walls are adorned with eclectic and original artwork.

THE KITCHEN
Open plan but still intimate. Experience the sight and sound of our open kitchen with the Chefs cooking on our bespoke, charcoal fuelled oven and char-grill.

THE PRIVATE ROOM
A wonderful private room with private bar on its own floor.

    Went for the steak and wine night on Friday. Great service, great food. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Marmite Hollandaise was a wow and the fir potatoes were 😍

    Great setting, nice feel when we went in. Bar area is nice good selection of beers and largers. Went upstairs for lunch. Bit cramped but again nice feel. Menu was disappointing, you know you’re in trouble when the first two mains are vegetarian. Starters were great but choice on mains was very limited. Went for steak in the end which was very nice. Limited sides so overall it was ok. Dessert was great, as was the cocktails. Not the best wine list but we got over that. Worth the effort to go there.

    There were no vegetables with the meal due to a delivery which I think could have been sorted , We could not pay with cash and was rudely chased out the restaurant due to leaving cash with the bill

    We had lunch at Lore of the Land yesterday, food was amazing, staff as always are welcoming and friendly and take the time to have a chat, it's our favourite pub in London, we are back in again in 2 weeks for Sunday lunch

    Absolutely top draw. The welcome from the staff was lovely and things just got better from there. The staff were charming, efficient and helpful (a cut above the norm) and the food WOW, the food was simply amazing. This meal experience exceeded my expectations. A very big thank you, and congratulations to all concerned.

    Booked the Lore of the Land to celebrate my partner's birthday. As we walked in, there was a buzz which was nice. We sat upstairs for food and ordered the cod tempura and spiced aubergine, the spiced aubergine was my favourite out of the two. For mains we ordered a ribeye and sirloin, I had the ribeye which I pleasantly enjoyed, the steak was cooked perfectly and the jus, crispy onions and greens was a nice touch, the pink fir potatoes were incredible, crisp to perfection and when paired with the truffle mayo it brought the taste to a whole new level, I also ordered the broccoli which was lovely. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and we would definitely come back!

    We were waiting for our reservation for a year. It was worth it. So far, I never had tastier sunday roast. They pushed it to a high level and thats a pub, we talking about. Dont undestand, why people are complaining about higher expectations..? What U could do better with this dish? Nothing, I guess. Very lovely and polite staff, selection of beers and drinks, also guy's beers very always different and tasty.. can not say a bad word about our lunch. Cant wain for another event at this wonderful pub.

    We really enjoyed our evening relaxed vibe!! Dinner was super. We wished the popcorn came in larger bowl Drinks were masterfully prepared. Pork loin was one of best tasting I’ve ever had.
