The service from the waitress we had was terrible, we had to ask to order as it took around 30 minutes of us being sat down to be approached. We were put downstairs so felt we were pretty much left and ignored. My friend has a dairy intolerance and advised the waitress of this, she did ask if there was a dairy free menu or dairy free options and the waitress said she didn't know. My friend then asked for a sausage roll for it to come, with dairy butter on the roll. Another roll was made but took another 30 minutes to come and all the rest of us had then finished our food at this point. The food was also given out at separate times from each other. We also asked the waitress if the radiator next to us was working or could be put on as it was freezing downstairs. We got told she would ask but never gave us an answer. The downstairs was also really quiet with no music or anything playing so was a tad awkward with other tables so close to us. The food was lovely and I normally love this place however the service has really made me not want to come back. Disappointed :(

Service was slow, incorrectly ordered, food was substandard, expensive and nothing arrived at the same times. When issues were address we were informed they would do better next time. Won’t be a next time, far nicer places to eat in south Queensferry

The location, the bakery , everything about it is so beautiful, everything is freshly made on the premises which makes it worth the costs. Please note, dogs are allowed inside, but those bringing dogs in aren’t sat in dedicated area, can be sat anywhere, so if you/child has a fear of dogs, no fault of the bakery but the constant dog barking at table next to us started to ruin what was a lovely catchup afternoon tea, owners not able to control it when it’s trying to escape to others , dog salvia going everywhere , this really put us off for next time.

Our visit was to use an afternoon tea voucher that we had been gifted. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. The food, however, was a little disappointing. Savoury consisted of one sandwich triangle, cheap white bread with a slice of processed ham and pre-packed sliced cheese. Looked as if it had been taken from one of their pre-packed sandwich boxes. The salmon and cream cheese bun was on the hard side and being black in colour, was not particularly appealing. The sausage roll and the little pastry were okay. The scones felt as if the had been stored in the fridge, really cold when you cut into them, but pleasant enough to eat. Decent choice of tray bakes to finish. Considering that you have to pre book for afternoon tea, I would have thought preparation ahead of time could have made the experience/food quality better.

The staff were lovely and the restaurant although busy was not noisy . The food however was not great . Had afternoon tea and the rolls were soggy and cakes a bit tasteless . One was not properly baked . Unfortunately has put us off returning.
