Our appetizer was CRUDO DI TONNO Red tuna and grapefruit tartare, with green apple and basil emulsion and flake sea salt: I found the tuna extremely blend, no particular grapefruit taste, not seasoned at all. As I mentioned the lack of grapefruit to the waiter, he very amiably brought me a small amount of grapefruit emulsion, which I also found rather tasteless. For $33, I thought it was certainly not worth the preparation, as besides cutting up the tuna in rather big chunks, not worth the price. We ordered 2 of these for the 4 of us, and our friends felt the same way. Main course: I had the sea scallops, and they were good, so were the halibut x2, and the filet mignon, all over $50 each Our dessert, a tiramisu, was terrible, no coffee taste, full of whipped cream and some soft cookie type, no tiramisu!! The other dessert was a zabaglione with fruit, and that was good. The service was pleasant, except that there was a long gap between the orders of the desserts and their arrival! It is a pretty restaurant, the tables are not too close to each other, and it is relatively quiet. Those are also important considerations for a pleasant dinner.

On our bucket list are Italian restaurants in the US in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, San Francisco, San Diego, Providence, Saint Louis and New York. California now remains. The back story at The Leopard and its unique and beautiful art work are treats. Vincenzo Adamo, the Executive Chef, provided us with a wonderful meal - Octopus Alla Griglia, Ragu Napoletano, Spinach, Bigne Al Pistachio, Strawberry Sorbetti and Cuppuccino. The friendly and informative service is without equal. Food to savor. An experience to savor for a lifetime.

A wonderful experience. It's all of what an elegant NYC dining experience can be. From the greeting upon arrival to the end, we were treated wonderfully. Excellent food. Not inexpensive, but for those willing to expend a bit more for the right experience, this is an excellent choice. A particular thanks to the waiter, Diego, he handled our meal beautifully.

Excellent food and service, except the tiramisu was the worst style I've ever had. Suggest you try a couple of new versions and see why your clientele prefer. On the other hand, the waitress did a superb job of beating the Zabaglione at the tableside -- the best Zabaglione I've ever had.

Food: Very good. Vitello tonnato very tasty but a bit skimpy on sauce and capers, no excuse at these prices (see below). Service: Very good (shout out to Gabriela). But ... decor/ambience was disappointing, doesn't come close to doing justice to the unique period wall paintings inherited from the old Cafe des Artistes. Kind of midcentury cafeteria style and not even well kept. However, the real downer was the pricing - wine list is over the top expensive and the dishes aren't cheap either, so it's very easy to get to $200 pp even being somewhat careful ... and sorry but this is not a $200 pp restaurant. Not very full on a Thursday night and I can see why. Spruce it up and catch up to the competition - otherwise you will continue to languish in the middle of the pack.
