   Sat at an extremely cold table, offered blankets but not really the ambiance I was expecting, probably wouldn’t go again in a hurry.

   The restaurant was very busy being Christmas and I don’t think they had enough staff to attend to all the tables seamlessly. Had to ask for a drinks order to be taken, more drinks to be poured and waited quite a while for our food order to be taken. The lettuce in the prawn cocktail was sopping wet but otherwise nice. The young waitress who served us could do with smiling but, she was probably under pressure because of the lack of staff. It’s either wonderful there or mediocre and today was the latter unfortunately.

   Restaurant is starting to look tired. Wine list is pricey. No chardonnays under 75. Place is quieter than before. It needs a spruce up.

   The Ivy is an excellent place to go and eat, extremely stylish, with nice food and exemplary service. The starters were actually excellent, but the main courses a notch lower in comparison. Whilst the mains were still very tasty, I feel for the price the portion size of the sides on the main course could have been a bit more generous. Overall, this was a great experience, and I will definitely be returning in the future.

   I’ve esten at so many Ivys and this was the worst one. The roast took over an hour to arrive and the gravy was burnt and my mum and I poured it all over the roast. Also, no vegetables . The chicken was a flattened escalope, not even roast chicken. They took it away and they brought me an Asian salad instead even though I asked for duck salad. Really horrible lunch for my son’s birthday. Still £180 For 6 of us and not enjoyable. Has put me off using The Ivy now. Such a shame as I normally love them.

    Went for brunch on a Sunday. Extensive menu choice and caters well for vegetarians and vegans. I had the avocado with poached eggs. Sadly the dish was just lukewarm when it was delivered to the table, and the chips that came with it were also warm rather than hot. Meaning the entire dish was cold halfway through eating. On this occasion the dish was also a little bland, the hollandaise sauce tasted too mild, not sharp as it should be. I had to salt to get any flavour. Unusual as I am almost always satisfied with the food I have had at any Ivy restaurant. The starters and cocktails were great as was the service.
