   What a nightmare. We have visited many Ivy restaurants across the country and highly rate the consistent high quality Ivy experience - food, atmosphere and service . So we were excited to book the Ivy Asia Mayfair for my wife’s birthday celebration on a Friday in May. The Ivy Asia Mayfair failed to deliver on the Ivy brand promise. Food - the regular Ivy menu is centred on classic dishes with a twist. The Ivy Asia dishes were Asian classics, but missed much of a twist (honourable exception being the spicy tofu). Atmosphere - the music was nightclub level loud - very difficult to hold a conversation across the table. We were seated outside two ornate doors to a private room where a large party was under way. There was constant noise and disruption with the doors opening to allow party goers in and out for smoke, toilet breaks etc. When we complained to our waitress she said ‘yes we staff are finding it really noisy too’. So we complained to the manager who sympathised and said she would move us when a table became available. Service - our waitress forgot one drink from our order. Then our water order. Then the plates were not changed between starter and main. As we were finishing our main the manager arrived to tell us we could now move table but clearly it was too late. After finishing the main courses we were in need of a quick exit and asked for the bill. After a long wait our waitress brought out a birthday cake with lighted candle for my wife. Still no bill. But my wife and the rest of our party had left 5 minutes earlier to recover in the relative calm of the street outside. No discount or recognition of the disruption which we had clearly been subjected to. What a nightmare.

   Visited the Mayfair Ivy Asia, with my mum and 18 yr old daughter. Always beautifully decorated and lovely to look at. Sadly after 25 minutes hadn’t been asked for what we’d like to drink and I had to ask a few times just for water for the table. Was an hour after arriving we got to eat. Granted it was lunchtime and always busy, however to wait 35 minutes to get a glass of wine, was a bit much. The staff were lovely but service very slow. We had 1 main dish each plus 2 side dishes and a bottle of white wine coming to £182, a pricey lunch with slow service. Shame as puts me off eating to return.

   The food was ok, but the service was very slow despite a not very full restaurant, from beginning to end. The amenities felt a bit dated.

   We had a lovely evening and the staff were friendly. I was sat under an air con unit so it was cold! It was a fun place to be but felt a little rushed which was a shame. Lovely room.

   I’ve always liked Ivy Asia, but unfortunately it has gone downhill. The food is still good, but the service was horrendous. We received our food before the drinks, and it took ages to get refills. That said, the waiter was very kind and offered us a free dessert to make up for the inconvenience. I won’t be returning unless there are clear improvements.

    We had booked a table here at 5:45 under Chloe on the 17th of May. The service was very poor from start to finish which is upsetting as your Guildford branch was brilliant. I was served the wrong drink twice and waited over 20 minutes for the correct one. I was then served the wrong sushi. The ice cream came out 10 minutes after the desserts which was ordered with the cheesecake, we also unfortunately didn’t like our desserts very much and left over half of them. There were 2 extra charged items we didn’t have on the bill along with the service charge which we had asked to remove twice. I am not happy with the service at all considering this is a high end popular restaurant and wish to be compensated for this. Look forward to your response.
