We’re a 17th century dog friendly coaching inn run by husband and wife team Tom and Claire. There isn’t a straight line in the place and we’ve kept the old character of the pub while injecting some more contemporary charm of our own. Our monthly menu showcases the best the local area has to offer featuring things like hogget reared in the village and wild garlic picked from local woodland. Our bar is stocked with locally brewed hand pulled ales, a wide variety of spirits and a good selection on tap with bar snacks alongside at the weekend. New for this year we now have a beautiful outdoor seating and dining area where you can catch the afternoon and early evening sun.
DOGS
We are dog friendly in the restaurant but we do have to limit the number of dogs per table to 2. On busy days we may have to limit the number of dogs in the restaurant completely to ensure all our customers are comfortable so please let us know if you are bringing a dog as we may not be able to accommodate you.

The £10 mains deal was on and it was exceptional value. Big portion sizes and excellent quality of food. Service was great as ever and lovely ambience, nothing to fault!

Nice welcome. Booking confirmed on arrival. Sat at nice table in a really pleasant dining room. Lovely service and good food. Nice ales and wine too. We really enjoyed our dinner for two.

The food is very good, but goes cool quickly as it is served on cold plates! The place would get full marks if it wasn’t for this.

Lovely last minute booking at The Highland Drove. We try and support the pub when we are around either for food or just bar snacks and drinks. Welcoming hosts, good selection of food for a Thursday, nice selection of drinks. I had the fish and chips which was a great portion and the homemade tartare sauce was fab.

We both had the roast pork Sunday lunch which was delicious. Meat, vegetables and Yorkshire pudding was cooked to perfection. Definitely eat there again. Thank you HD for great food and service.

Cosy inn with open fire. Candlelit table. Friendly welcome to our table. Well presented, delicious, three course meal washed down with good beer. Lovely evening.

We had the burger and the pie from the specials. Both were delicious and the pie was a very generous portion! The pub had a lovely ambience and the staff were very friendly.
