It was very cold and my two teenage girls were freezing the whole time with sweaters as was I. I’ve honestly wanted to do this for 10 years and really would have expected something a little more magical for $300.

Brown palace tea is a wonderful experience. The atrium is beautiful and the presentation is formal but not intimidating. It is quite expensive, but was worth it for a special occasion. I highly recommend for a special occasion or to experience a little piece of Denver history.

For years, the Brown Palace has been a highlight of our holiday season — not this year. I made our reservation in June, but our table wasn’t even in the dining area. It was tucked away in a corner with zero holiday ambiance. (A party near us demanded to be moved, and their request was eventually granted.) Staff had assured me beforehand that a member of our party’s common dietary restriction wouldn’t be an issue. Yet when our server asked if there were any dietary restrictions and we let her know about the previous request, she said, “Well, no one told us,” and seemed annoyed. After looking into it, she told us the chef could not, in fact, accommodate the request. The rest of us enjoyed the standard menu. There are bigger problems in the world than a lackluster holiday tea, but the Brown Palace has always been one of Denver’s jewels, and it’s disappointing to see it lose its shine.

An elegant and relaxing way to enjoy the historic beauty of the Brown Palace. Forrest was an excellent and attentive server who gave great recommendations.

Tea was nice. Had to wait half hour for our table which was annoying since we had reservations.

Awful. Don’t waste your money. The hotel and room for the tea service is dated and dirty. The food is very subpar and the service was abysmal. We got our tea shortly after being seated but didn’t see our server again with the food that’s supposed to accompany the tea for 30 mins. By the time we got the food, our tea was cold. Overall a very poor experience. Do not recommend.

It is a family tradition to have Christmas Tea at the Brown Palace with 3 generations. The teas are delicious. The scones are good, although they are not generous with the lemon curd and Devonshire cream. The sandwiches are okay. We enjoy the ambience and the gathering of our family.

We were an excited to go to tea at the Brown Palace. It’s something we had been planning for a long time. We had the holiday tea and the food and tea was exceptional. The service, however, was terrible. When I called about reservations, the person who answered the phone was surly. When entering the brown palace, we weren’t sure where to check in and asked a server where to go, he was rude and dismissive. While seated for tea, over an hour and a half, our waitress didn’t check on us once. After two failed attempts to call her over, I finally got her attention. When you pay $300 for tea for mom and two kids, the staff is a large part of the experience. Oh, and the kid rate is only applicable to 6 and under which is hardly standard. Afternoon tea is something our family cherishes and seeks out but after our treatment today, I doubt we would consider going back to Brown Palace.
