   Good food but service was a little slow. Didn’t understand why because it seemed like there was plenty of help. Good food and never had a bad meal. One of our favorite places to eat in LG.

   Drinks and food were excellent. Our waiter was very attentive. Enjoy the atmosphere and lake views.

   We ordered grouper listed for $34 on the menu that we planned to split. It came with soup or salad. We asked if soup was cream based. The waitress came back to say that it did not have cream, and that the grouper was $45 and it was supposedly a better fish. They are printing new menus and this will be changed soon. Given that we had already ordered and didn't have menus we just said OK. Then we were told there was a $10 splitting charge but we both got soup or salad. Many places have a splitting charge. It was the fact that we weren't told there was a splitting fee AND the price was increased $11 left a bad taste in my mouth. The grouper was good, but nothing special- no sauces to enhance the flavor. When I called today to express my dissatisfaction, I was told that there was nothing he could do and I should have told him last night. It was a special occasion and would have been uncomfortable to say anything at the time. I was told that if I came back that they would take care of me. However, we live out of town and doubt that we will be back.

   We were here a month ago for our anniversary and this week for a birthday. When you make a reservation it asks if it is a special occasion which I indicated it was both times. There was no acknowledgement by the restaurant either time so not sure why this question is asked when nothing is done with the information. Also the table next to us was told that for anniversaries and birthdays dessert is free. When our waiter asked if we wanted dessert my husband said it's your birthday so get one if you want. We did order one and was charged. Certainly can afford pay for it however feel somewhat gyped knowing the other group was provided at no cost. Perhaps consistency in regards to this would be helpful. The food was excellent though and that's the main thing :)

   Typical great experience. The Getaway is on our monthly Saturday night rotation, for a very good reason.

   The food was delicious our server, Becky simply “ OUTSTANDING “ . Becky was a professional and represents the restaurant with integrity and respect. Becky made our dinner and mustard was back the next day to service for breakfast simply outstanding person . The getaway restaurant should be proud to have her. Oh yes, and the food was delicious as well top shelf thank you Becky.
