   The restaurant is very appealing, although the tables are very close. Our waiter was great, and the food was very good. We were there for brunch. My only complaint was that I ordered a cup of coffee, which was the best coffee I've ever had. When I requested a second cup, our waiter poured from a pot, and that coffee was like the dregs from the leftover coffee. I would have requested and paid for another cup from the barista, but I wasn't informed of that need. This wasn't a big deal, I would still recommend The Gage, but it is not cheap, and so be aware of the second cup of coffee.

   The food and cocktails here are always phenomenal and this was the first time I’ve had brunch at the Gage. I had the corned beef which was shaved corned beef with onions and potatoes, poached eggs w Hollandaise and sourdough toast. It was superb! I love the Gage!

   The food is always great at the Gage and brunch today was no exception. The Homemade Corned Beef Hash was savory, tender and perfectly cooked with poached eggs. Our waitress Anna was attentive and pleasant. The only downside was we were seated directly adjacent to the only other table in our area. Poor choice of spacing was uncomfortable.

   This is my second time eating at the Gage. First time was last spring. As with the first time, service food and ambience were impeccable. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a classic Chicago eatery in the heart of the loop, where the restaurants vintage vibe only adds to the delicious food and top notch service.

   Miro’s service was an absolute delight. We had the field greens salad with steak and fried chicken lobster. They were delicious. Highly recommend both dishes. The Apple Cheesecake was also good. The place gets really crowded and seats are tight in the back. All the servers were really great.

   Oysters were fresh, beef Bourguignon was savory, pear salad was relatively small but delicious. Troy provided excellent service and advice. Try the ciabatta.
