   This is the second time of visiting, absolutely outstanding food. I came with a friend who had never been before and we both had the prawn tacos, she said they were the best prawns she had ever had, that goes for me too. Bringing my hubby next time

   A good choice of dishes on the main menu and on the specials board. I had the smoked fish carbonara and my partner had chalk stream trout. Both were delicious! The staff were helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our visit.

    We booked The Fish cottage as a treat for my birthday. The restaurant is a fair way from Whitby so we took a taxi. When we arrived we noticed all of the lights were off and no one in the car park. It appeared to be closed, we rang but no reply. We realised that we weren't eating those that evening and got a taxi back. When we got back to Whitby I emailed, three days later and still no reply or explanation. Overall a really poor experience which cost money on taxis, no response from the restaurant, despite us confirming the reservation day before. It's a real shame as we were all looking forward to a great evening .
