The District GastroBar has an innovative design that starts in the restaurant's entrance, a well curated modern speak easy with a nostalgic vintage ambiance and an eclectic array of "one off" pieces of Prohibition and 1940 era inspired artwork. Walk past the restaurants front door, guests encounter a antique bronze tin ceiling wrapped around historic 1900 brick, custom vintage lighting, but only the adventurous will discover all that The District GastroBar has to offer. With a distinct dining room, grandiose bar layout, an open air patio and a women’s bathroom complete with a salon inspired feel and antique perfume bottles. The cuisine, much like the design, is intended to set a new course. Chef Lamond Cooper and menu creator Andre Walton have adapted to the new shared plate dining trend that has swept the nation, and with The District GastroBar menu, they have created waves on the food scene better known as GASTRONOMY!

This review is based on our experience with the little short bartender with lots of tattoos. He went from ignoring us to just being nasty with absolutely no sense of customer service and definitely not customer retention. He needs to be pulled from customer interactions and retrained. Three of us ate meals that tasted good and Amanda's (our waitress) service was good. The bartender did mess up one drink but Amanda replaced it without being asked. When the second drink was made with soda instead of tonic, we didn't even complain. After spending close $250, we went to the basketball game at the Kia center. We enjoyed ourselves and decided to head back over there. We sat down at the bar and we were ignored. A customer next to me knocked over an entire beer, broke the glass that it was in. The beer began to run down towards me. I had to jump up and grab our things. "Tattoo" made no haste and he let the customers clean it up. He did not acknowledge me in anyway, so I asked one of the waitresses if she could help, but she had tables. My husband ended up walking around the other side of the bar to stand in front of the bartender for several minutes. Besides for moving quite slowly, he refused to make any eye contact with my husband or acknowledge him in any way. As a VIP Opentable.com member since 2004, we eat out all the time. I expected the bartender to at least say he would get to us as soon as he could but nothing. A customer beside my husband said the guy couldat least acknowledge you. Finally, my husband asked him if he was ever going to acknowledge him and this guy got nasty with my husband. I told him not to say anything to my husband and our friend was telling me it wasn't worth it. We had such a nice night and this guy's poor service really put a damper on it. Seemed like this guy didn't even want to be there. It's a shame because the food was good and we thought we'd found a new place to visit. With Tattoo there, we will think twice.

Service was not so great especially the checking in for reservation and seating. Made a reservation, but waited for 45 to get seated and then about 65-75 min for our food. We were beyond frustrated, but the food was amazing! Not worth the wait and will definitely pick a different restaurant next time we’re in Orlando.

Good food. Nice servers but bar is VERY slow. Note they will not take cash and charge a 20% tip on every bill that you cannot remove!

Food did not seem to be fresh made. Tasted like leftovers. Low quality gumbo and lobster rolls.

Great service, just a little short on choice for me personally on the Brunch Menu but what we did have was really good.

Good food, close to the KIA center. I would have preferred a real plate instead of a piece of slate for a plate. Pimento burger was good but way messy.

Very good location if you are headed to an Orlando City game, however service level fairly low (servers not very attentive) and food is just mediocre- some items are very salty, etc. Overall an ‘ok’ experience.

For a restaurant near the Kia center, they are inadequately staffed. Food is mediocre.
