The Daffodil is a Michelin-awarded food-led country pub, with high quality Shepherd's Hut accommodation (bookable directly via The Daffodil website and via Air B&B) in the pretty rural village of Penrhiwllan. Located 4 miles from Newcastle Emlyn, midway between Cardigan, Carmarthen & Aberystwyth, it's an ideal location for a few days rest or a relaxing meal in scenic surroundings.

Food at The Daffodil is freshly prepared using the best quality local produce wherever possible. The menu, available to guests eating in the restaurant, bar areas and outside decking over-looking the unspoilt valley incorporates dishes appropriate for full three-course dining and for those wishing for more traditional bar-meal-style dining. Guests can watch our chefs working in full view in our gallery kitchen, or enjoy the unspoilt view across the valley, eating on the south-facing decking.

    Had roast dinners on Easter Sunday. One lamb and one beef. Both meals were delicious as close to 10/10 as possible. Restaurant is informal enough, staff really good,lovely outdoor space nothing to fault

    That was one of the best roasts we have ever tasted. The Lamb was cooked to perfection and the accompanying vegetables were absolutely delicious.

    Brilliant meal again at the Daffodil. Food exceptional, staff lovely and attentive and we couldn’t fault it at all. One of our favourite places to eat. Thank you again for making our visit memorable.

    Excellent food, lovely setting, had a really lovely evening. Had a lovely feel, obviously very popular and we found out why, the food was absolutely excellent. Good choice, served hot, not rushed, able to accommodate any special requests..worth going, will certainly go back again!

    Birthday lunch for two, veggie and non-veggie. Friendly and obliging service. Great food of excellent quality with original touches. The veggie breakfast was especially good. Overall, great value. This place desires to thrive - but not being overly busy was good news for those of us who enjoy the peace and quiet.

    Lovely food well cooked & friendly staff. The restaurant is a nice bright area to sit & eat your dinner on comfortable seats. My friend & I always have our Sunday lunch when my friend visits me, she always asks me to book Daffodils for our lunch.

    Absolutely great place food is fantastic as always plenty of room between tables and a lovely atmosphere to boot can't recommend any higher just go their 5 stars all the way
