   I took my partner for her birthday last night. I have eaten there before and it was good, so expected the same. Food was excellent, both had steaks, cooked perfectly to our liking , chips, excellent, accompanying veg dishes, also excellent. Deserts were equally good, and GF options availabe on many dishes. Good choice of wines, and the one lad who was working was also ecxellent, very polite and attentive, nice table on its own, had a very nice evening,thanks

   Really lacked any ambience. Rather cold and bleak. Was looking forward to eating here as prices suggested it would be good. Plumped for chicken Kiev, classic’70’s fare at £24. Oh dear! No garlic butter inside at all and chicken tough. Should have sent it back. Average apple and pear crumble. Don’t get fancy with crumble. It is what it is and this disappointed. Without the cream, ice cream and custard it would have been average at best. Owner made his opinions clear at this request so didn’t improve my mood. Too many highly strung yappy dogs. Round trip of 4 hours to catch up with relatives made for a flat day out. Will not return.

   Lovely food and great service! We had lunch here on a Monday, so it was pretty quiet but we were given a table by the window on request and the service was excellent.

    As always a delicious Sunday Roast. Tear and Share Lamb is our absolute favourite. Served with a wide choice of vegetables all hot and cooked to perfection. Staff are all attentive, efficient but still friendly and chatty. We were served by Daisy this visit who was lovely. We want to try other places but why bother when we have found the perfect Sunday lunch there? I don’t think anywhere else would measure up.
