   I celebrated my birthday last night with some pals at The Coup. The people that worked there were AMAZING. They really went above and beyond to make my birthday experience so special. They were so lovely!! The food - AMAZING. the loaded yams 10/10. The espresso cheesecake (that I was graciously gifted, with a lit candle and a birthday song from the staff) was free from dairy, gluten and refined sugars and tasted DELICIOUS. If you feel like this review is me screaming great descriptive words about the experience and the food, it’s because I am. I will definitely be back!

   We were there for lunch and are vegans. I had the Messy Jessi from the brunch menu which was excellent, flavourful and filling. My husband had the falafel quesadilla which came with a side. He chose sweet potato wedges. His food too was excellent! There was on street parking (paid) on 17th Ave so access was easy. Fairly quiet inside. Service was very good without hovering. We’ll definitely go back.

   I’ve been to Coup many times and this time was different. We ordered things that we’ve ordered before, but were extremely disappointed. Gyoza was cold, kale salad was ok, drunken noodles with the tempeh (which was recommended by the server and was totally not the right choice) was also disappointing. The tempeh tasted smoked and did not take on any of the flavour of the curry but instead forced the smoke flavour inonto the noodles. That should never have been recommended. Also - George wasn’t there! We’ll still be back,because we love this place, but hopefully better experience next time.

   Always an excellent time at the Coup! Really appreciate the kitchen expediting an extra order of gyoza for our very hungry 4 year old after he crushed the first round. Extremely tasty and always recommend this spot!

    The food was lacklustre and overpriced for what was received. The restaurant was not very busy but our service was slow. The space was also incredibly cold, to the point that the restaurant had put out some space heaters. This used to be one of my favourite places for dinner, but it seems that the quality has declined. Would no longer recommend.
