About this restaurant

  • Great for fine wines
  • Charming
  • Good for special occasions
Our beliefs are simple - in a world full of so much terrific food and wine, why settle for a slab of quiche and a glass of boring plonk? Our food is innovative, fresh and tasty... and available at all hours. The wine list speaks for itself - "Legendary for its iconoclastic notes. It doesn"t necessarily tell you what the wine tastes like - you have to make your mind up. It's there to provoke interest", says Harpers, the wine trade magazine. As Barossa wine making supremo John Glaetzer puts it so succinctly, "Don, this is not just a wine list - it's a book". And a readable one at that!

Outstanding service. Great food. Not much choice on lower end of wine lust but it is a wine lovers paradise.

Been coming here regularly since 1998. Always good. Always have the ham and cheese pie. Great wine list. This place never changes and that’s the way we like it.

Very enjoyable Good food. Very good place to visit in Leicester square avoiding chain restaurants. Only downside was my lady was sat over a drain hole and was smelly. I would have asked to be moved but she only told me today. I could not smell anything to be fair.

What a wonderful secret restaurant hidden under a wine shop in the middle of London theatre land. So fantastic I’m loathe to share for fear it may get mobbed by tourists and not leave any space for me when I return 😉 The food is great, the wine fabulous and the staff fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you Junior and Andre for your warm welcome

Used to visit regularly when I worked in London, delighted to see the wine bar is just as good as it used to be. Friendly, helpful service with tasty food and an extensive wine list. Will be coming back to try Viognier from a different country!

Fantastic little venue just off Leicester Square but which, due to being underground, is not as well known. Great selection of wine , cheese etc. Recommended to book a table ahead of turning up!

Such a hidden gem, I love bringing friends here, especially for the first time. It's great to see their reaction when they come in from the hustle and bustle of Leicester Square into the wine bar. The wine was excellent, the food delicious and the service was first rate.
