   Normally very good but today was very very poor. Service terrible waited ages to be asked for a drink and order then wait ages for the drink to arrive started arrived at the same time as the drink so sat ages with nothing not even a glass of water. Even had to ask for glasses to drink the water when it came. Then waited over an hour for the mains! Someone apologised after an hour waiting but when they came no one apologised ! Food not that hot and I think they actually ran out of food which was the issue. Did not both with desert or coffee and could not be bothered to wait. There is one waitress who is great but everyone else very poor. Club House is definitely not what it used to be. We stay locally and have been going for years but today The Club House let itself down and I will think twice before going back. There are other places close which are worth a try now.

   Had a seafood chowder as starter which was perfect but the Sunday lunch roast beef was very disappointing and both my wife and myself found ourselves unable to eat due to the sinuous nature of the beef…. We asked the chef to be informed and were offered a coffee or desert on the house .. shame as the weather was excellent as was the ambiance in the pavilion.

   The service was excellent as always and nearly all the food was good. However my wife’s bread and butter pudding was both cold and very solid, perhaps not properly defrosted. A pity as everything else was excellent

    Great value ( 3 course lunch for £30) and overall one of my favourite restaurants. Food is excellent. View and staff are lovely too.
