The Canteen is a full-service neighbourhood restaurant in Downtown Dartmouth, serving up chef-inspired seasonal fare for lunch, brunch and dinner. At the helm in the kitchen is award-winning chef and co-owner Renee Lavallee.     I enjoyed the food; I wasn't impressed by asking for my Caesar drink muddy and being charged extra after dropping a few hundred dollars.

    Great meal! It was a busy time and the restaurant was a little noisy because it's small but will definitely go back.

    Great location, quaint and cute, great servers. Make sure you arrive with a reservation.. I don't recommend just walking in.. however they do accept walk ins.

    Ambiance très sympa, très bonne table sans prétentions! Les plats sont très copieux (un peu trop)! On y retournera car le prix est raisonnable!

    Fantastic…. And I do mean FANTASTIC. Only one small downside is that the seating at the bar was not comfortable, low backs, slope away seating wasn’t good. Apart from that this place is a GEM! We’ve been before & will go back again!
