From the OpenTable editors: Top Chef star Jamie Tran leans on her Vietnamese roots at this upscale restaurant that Eater Vegas named restaurant of the year when it opened in 2017. That means you'll find dishes like imperial rolls stuffed with duroc pork and shrimp and sautéed glass noodles in a spicy gochujang sauce all served in a spacious, industrial-chic dining room adorned with exposed lights and plenty of mirrors on the walls. Awesome dinner. Feel bad about giving 4 for service. Their bartender quit. So the Chef owner had to mix our 2 rounds of cocktails - keeping us waiting. The hostess and servers were wonderful. Food is exceptional. Salmon skin tacos are a must!

I was excited to try this location as a pregame to the Manassas, VA location and the menu was very limited and the items prepared were not good. We had 6 in our party and the only item we liked was one of the cocktails. We were extremely underwhelmed and I likely will not visit the VA location to prevent further disappointment.

We have been to Black Sheep numerous times, but this last dinner we had on Saturday was by far the worst experience we have had. We recommended the place to our friends as we have been here before. I am assuming that they were short staffed this time. We were seated right away but our orders and food took such a long time. We ordered cocktails, but noticed that the people who arrived after us received theirs before us(there was 4 of us and 4 of them as well; my point is the same amount of orders). Then, my friend and I preferred vodka so she asked if she can substitute vodka for her cocktail. I really didn't understand the response we got; she said my friend couldn't have a substitution as it was batched out for the night? For drinks? I am not sure what that meant. Then the food came, which also took a while. It wasn't bad, but my husband ordered the duck salad, which was the special. It was too salty. I was very disappointed. I am not sure what happened but we did notice that the bar did not have bartenders? And our waitress was the only one; the people from the kitchen were the ones serving the food. Overall, we weren't happy with our experience. Hope it was just a fluke.

Outstanding experience. Feels elegant casual, and at the same time like family dining with such personalized service that chef Tran filled our water glasses, was gracious to take a minute for a conversation, and on the way out was behind the bar mixing drinks. Not JUST palette pleasing. Heart warming.
