   We sat in the snug as we had the dog with us. Nice and quiet but we left after a loud group of cackling women arrived. This was our family time. Fortunately we had eaten our food. The food was overpriced. 3 sausages, a bit of mash, frozen peas like bullets, bisto gravy and two of the smallest onion rings I have ever seen, £12.50. Rip off. Not all the food arrived together luckily the others started before their food got cold. The chicken nuggets were over cooked and verging on burnt. Chips were lukewarm at best and the beans voided on juice. On a positive note the staff were very pleasant. Meet and greet was good and we were quickly shown to our table. A reasonable experience at best. Would we be back. No.

   What a well run place this is, the staff had to deal with some undesirable customers and handled it extremely well! We really felt like valued customers so thank you.

   Lovely pub in the centre of Richmond. Despite the ongoing work to the kitchen following a fire, the staff managed to provide good quality food using the catering van. The room was lovely, a little cold on arrival (no surprise given time of year) I reported this and the issue was very promptly solved. Have stayed here before and will definitely stay again

   Visited twice over the Xmas period and as always the food and drink and service was excellent.

   Love the Black Lion, my family and I have stayed here and had food here on separate occasions. The staff go above and beyond to take car of you, the food is delicious and hot when served, the rooms are cozy and nicely decorated. All round a good pub/hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed and kids friendly. We have booked up to come stay again in March! Great place to eat or stay! Extra shout out as they have experienced an accidental fire in the kitchen and are having to use a catering Van for a temporary kitchen, this has not altered the quality of the food or the service, still top notch grub like always! Highly recommend for families and couples!

   Such a lovely Friendly pub and the food and staff are wonderful. Made us all feel so relaxed and we enjoyed every minute of it. We will defo be back.

    Table booked for 17:15, food had clearly been plated a lot earlier and heated up!!! Unfortunately half of our party of eight have suffered with sickness overnight.
