   Our server recognized my birthday and noted the food allergies in our party. Our food was brought out in a timely manner and everything was hot and delicious. I would definitely make the drive to go again.

   Nick was fine as a server - but food was mediocre at best. Very disappointed. Probably not going back

   We have dined at the Avenue many times but this time was not the stellar experience we are accustomed to having. I understand it was NYE and extremely busy but simple things like clearing off dirty dishes before having some (not all) of our entrees come, waiting a long time for everyone’s entrees to come and never being checked on by our server were disappointing. We ordered the surf and Turf special and had to ask for then wait for butter. By the time everyone had everything they needed the food was cold.

   We celebrated a very special birthday and were given the private room which made our visit memorable. The food: oysters, twin fillets, filet mignon, linguine with clam sauce, chocolate cake were absolutely sublime. Also, our cocktails were absolute perfection: dirty martini, espresso martini, wine abs port completed the meal perfectly. Thank you for a memorable experience - my new favorite steak restaurant in Columbus.

   Overall not the best experience . Yes they were very crowded so i definitely am taking that into account . We were there 3 hours with a party of 6 , We had no dessert and did not linger , pacing was just very slow . i ordered the strip steak and could barely saw through it with the steak knife . A good third of my steak was complete gristle and couldn’t cut it let alone eat it . We were checked on once by our server right after our food came out , and i hadn’t tasted the steak yet so i didn’t realize how bad the cut was . I think i just got a bad piece , it happens . . I notified the server when he cleared out plates that everything left on the plate was inedible , completely gristle and sinew . I expect a few bites of gristle on a steak but not a third of the piece . Very disappointing experience and not thrilled to have paid full price for an inedible piece of meat . The whole table saw me trying to cut it and struggling . I love the venue and cocktails were great , steak was also cooked properly . I did try to catch our server before the end of the meal but couldn’t locate him to send it back .

   I’m sad to say this experience was not great. We had early reservations to celebrate our anniversary. It was in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary. We decided to sit in the bar area to enjoy happy hour cocktails but also ordered a full dinner. Everything was fine until we ordered dinner. We weren’t in any hurry but the entrees seemed to take an extra long time to come out. When the entrees arrived I cut into my medium rare steak to find it was medium well in the middle and well done on the edges. Disappointing surely but I waited for our waiter and told him. He brought it back to the kitchen. It took a while but then what I assume was a manager came out with a new steak, and asked me to check it. It still wasn’t medium rare but better and I just accepted it. In the end this was a special celebration for our family and it just didn’t feel special. There wasn’t an apology not even from the manager, not a mention of our anniversary and while my husband and son enjoyed their dinners I waited for mine. Just not great. We like The Avenue and will probably return. Just not for an occasion or special dinner. It was just very disappointing overall tonight. They have good salads, great French fries and appetizers we enjoy. I’ll probably just stick with those going forward. I just expect better from this caliber of restaurant and hate to be this disappointed, esp. at these prices.
