   Meals in the dining room are wonderful. Pianists on their grand piano make it so special to dine there.

   We had a window table which would have been lovely except that outside the window was construction equipment blocking the beautiful view and our table was right next to the service stand so I felt like I was in the kitchen. Maybe at a different table or a different view we would have enjoyed it?

   Excellent staff serving our table. Right on their game! Food is enjoyable, atmosphere fantastic. Will be nice when the construction trailers and toilets are finally removed. Upsides: atmosphere and staff. Biggest downsides: cold breakfast potatoes and a chemical smell on the OJ glass-perhaps not rinsed well enough?

   We had a reservation for 845 and by the time we had shown up, they had already started breaking down what was a buffet style dinner which we were not expecting. The weight staff was lovely and absolutely very helpful but it was a disappointing dinner.

   The hostess seated us at a table in the alcove facing Upper Yosemite falls. She said it was where Queen Elizabeth ate when she was there. What an amazing view! They have just finished a major renovation project so there are still trailers and porta potties visible but it did not take away the gorgeous view from our table. The food was still buffet style but delicious. Had a fabulous, not to be missed dinner.

   The Ahwanee is a beautiful building and the dining room was rich in ambience. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was average for a breakfast buffet.

   If you intend to eat at the dinner buffet, dine early night. We did it at 8:00pm and the only thing they had was “leftover “ It was the worst experience so far I ever had.

    The Ahwahnee is amazing! However, I was disappointed that the food was not very warm. Our waiter was wonderful and got a lot of information for me about things I needed to avoid for sensitivities. One thing I need to avoid is dairy so when the rice spoon had polenta on it I asked for a new spoon and the attendant merely shook it clean vs getting a clean spoon. Kind of lame. For the cost, I expect better than that. And there were construction pieces all around outside the windows. Again, for the cost, they should stage this stuff out of view. I expect better.
