   A Must-Visit in Vancouver for Exceptional Vegan Dining! We had the most incredible experience at Acorn Restaurant in Vancouver! We came in for brunch and were absolutely blown away by every dish we tried—each one was even better than the last. The creativity and flavors in their plant-based menu are unmatched, and you can really taste the quality of their locally sourced ingredients. Beyond the food, the ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to walk us through the menu and share insights about their sustainable, zero-waste philosophy. We’re already planning our next visit to try their dinner menu! If you’re in Vancouver and looking for an unforgettable dining experience—whether you’re vegan or not—Acorn is an absolute must.

   The food was exceptionally -- likely the best vegan tasting menu in Vancouver, and among the top in Canada if not in North America or globally. However, everything else about the restaurant needs a bit of work. The service in particular was on the poor side for this caliber of restaurant. We were through the amuse and our first course before we received our drink orders. I had to ask one of the runners to hunt down our server. We also ordered a bottle of wine, and that was even worse... there are two main courses -- after a litany of prior, smaller courses -- and we got our bottle of wine just prior to the main course. If it had come any later I was going to suggest we would just each do a glass of wine. As it was, we had to really rush through the bottle to finish it, which precluded us from ordering coffee with dessert (although our server didn't ask if we wanted coffee or other after-dinner drink, so I don't know if they even offer coffee). The food plating was poor as well. Sometimes we were still working through a course when a runner would come out with the next course. At first I thought they needed to turn our table for another reservation (there were at least two parties waiting to be seated). However, I think it was poor execution oversight on the part of the kitchen -- at other times there were long time gaps between courses. The restaurant was also just too loud; they would benefit from putting some acoustic panels on the ceilings or walls, or calling in an acoustic engineering consultant to assist. Even when half full at 5:30 pm, we found ourselves having to really raise our voice to hear one another, and I caught maybe 30% of the explanations the runners provided regarding the dishes. Would I come back? Yes, and we will -- the food is that good. But everything else they need to work on; I'm amazed that Michelin has rated them quite frankly for that reason.

   We selected the chef’s tasting menu for brunch and every single dish from start to finish was presented beautifully and layered in flavours. We cannot wait to return for dinner one evening. Fantastic experience!

   Love the commitment to local, organic producers and use of all parts of the plant - nothing goes to waste. Most impressive is the creativity and amazing combination of flavours, textures. Every dish is not just delicious, but beautifully presented. The wine pairings were expertly done, and both food and wine were complemented by an excellent service team. Thank you!

   Great place with lots of super tasty vegetarian and vegan options. I eat meat but had a wonderful meal here. We didn't have the tasting menu but wish we had. Seems like a good deal and a good way of sampling more dishes.
