   Usually the food is fantastic. Last night the Carne Asada plate was very bland. Charred nicely but without seasoning or flavorful sauce it just tasted bland.

   This place shines as a drinks and app destination. The atmosphere is hopping and you just feel good walking in. The appetizers were awesome, which ended up being the best part of the night! We ordered chips and 3 salsas, and the fundito queso. Unfortunately, our meals were beyond disappointing. This was the second time coming so we thought maybe the first time was an anomaly. It wasn't. First time we came, we ordered tacos. They were just ho hum. So we didn't repeat our mistake there. Last night we decided to try other entrees. One meal was quite good -- braised shank plate. It was tender and the sauce was delicious. The half chicken was just okay -- pretty dry, but the sauce helped a little. Two of us ordered the carne asada plate, and it was as bad as we've ever had before. The meat was cooked appropriately, but incredibly tough. Even the marinade and cutting into small pieces couldn't make up for the difficulty in chewing the meat. Service was good, especially for such a busy night. Bathrooms need help. Only 1 men's bathroom, and 1 women's bathroom. At peak dining times, there is a line waiting for the toilette. Overall, the menu is wonderfully creative and has great potential. But somehow the execution failed.

   Consistently good food and service. Always busy and last night was no exception, but the hosts are unfailingly polite and accommodating. So glad we made a reservation. A bit of a hiccup when an attempt was made to seat us at a high top. I pointed out my surgical boot and the fact I'd noted this on booking, and despite the crowds we were immediately apologized to and accommodated. While waiting for drinks (very short wait) I watched a young mother and baby being similarly assisted. This is as important to me as the food and drinks. That said, the margaritas are excellent - not too sweet, and the only difficulty is deciding which tacos to choose. I went with de birria, pesce tempura and tijuana shrimp. It's all good!
