It has been a long time since I have been served such a mediocre meal anywhere. Having read the reviews, I was shocked when my partner and I were served gamey tasting duck, dried out salmon, and overdressed salads seemingly thrown onto the plate at prices that were significant considering the mediocrity of the food and the lackluster presentation. No need to return. Ever.

If you can't live in Paris, an evening at Supper Club is the next best thing. A restaurant with a caring, dedicated, and talented chef actually doing the cooking, is exceptional in New York. The food is extraordinary, the ambience warm and pleasant, and the staff is not only attentive but genuinely welcoming. It is a stark contrast to the corporate Disneyland like French restaurants that abound in New York and truly a gem. The menu changes with the season and Mr. Newman skillfully applies the best French technique to create wonderful meals that focus on quality and flavor rather than relying on the waiter's ability to spin a 20 minute yarn on how each mushroom was picked. It is one of those gems that one would find in France and one that brings you back again and again.

Fabulous food, great casual neighborhood vibe and super friendly service from all. Felt like being in the family. Down to earth French food like you’d get at a traditional restaurant without any fuss or fancy/shmancy.

What a lovely Christmas dinner! The food is always dependably delicious, beautifully plated, and served with warmth and genuine attention to detail. I never tire of eating here. Hidden on a small side street and tucked back a bit from the sidewalk, it escapes the notice of passersbys strolling on First Avenue. Almost like a speakeasy, you have to “know” to go there. I almost want to keep this place to myself but it is such a gem and deserves to be recognized as one of the best restaurants in NYC, not just on the UES.

A great restaurant for our Christmas dinner. The service was fantastic and food was to die for! We are two vegetarians and were easily able to enjoy a meal— they were even able to do the caramelized onion tartlets without bacon. The kale salad and honeynut squash had such wonderfully balanced flavors and we appreciated being able to take our time throughout the meal.
