   Gorgeous venue, amazing food! The service was impeccable, too. One of the best meals I’ve eaten in a long time. Will be recommending to everyone.

   They seemed a bit short staffed but the staff was outstanding. The only thing I’d ding the place on is the noise level, but the food is SO excellent I’ve got this on my favorites list.

   There was a time when this was a highly regarded, creative and exciting restaurant. Sadly, that time has seemingly passed. It wasn’t awful. Food was fine. No specials. Nothing felt “fresh” Service was decent. The entire meal I kept thinking how Gordon Ramsey would come in this place and rip it to shreds. Never has the inside of a restaurant looked more tired. Sad. Nobody was having fun. Dusty old books on a book shelf. No table cloths. Old stained furniture. Not anything like the days when this place was lauded in the SF Chronicle. I left a little heartbroken. Can’t imagine returning any time soon

   We hadn’t been to Stokes for about six months and it did not disappoint. The food and service were excellent. We had a lovely evening.

   Very nice. The pork chop was delicious. We missed out on the happy hour pizza, but will go back to try!

   Food was imaginative, of excellent quality and professionally served. Strangely, staff was inclined to remove plates before everyone had finished, and seems surprised when asked otherwise. Noise level was a bit high, hampering conversation. On balance, however, the experience was as good as it was in the past, and we will certainly return.

    Very nice ambiance in the dining room. Service was excellent. Food was good but pricey. Main courses were served in bowls. For their price point, my expectation was a little more. Menu selection was limited but we managed to get something for everyone in our party of four
