   3 of us visited mid week for lunch, having read such good reviews, and we weren't disappointed. A great low key vibe without any pretension, small and with excellent staff. The four course tasting menu was absolutely delicious, very different flavours and styles. A highlight was perfectly cooked cod loin with a cauliflower puree and dill oil. The only thing we didn't like do much were the drink flights (we had both alcohol and virgin). Some of the flavours were too challengng for us. When we go back (which we will) we'll probably just get a bottle of wine to enjoy.

   We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. All the courses had their own particular outstanding quality. There was a great vibe that added to our dining experience. One of us had the Bodmin gin distilled by Stage and said that it had a great taste. We will be returning as the menu changes often.

   We really liked the 6 course dinner menu, it was refreshing to have the pressure to choose something taken away and have whatever they’ve provided. I’m not sure how regularly this changes and wished I have had asked just so I don’t book the same sort of menu again too quickly, that’s how keen we are to come back. In summary, all of it was great, some things were out of our comfort zone but that’s the beauty of it, trying things you wouldn’t necessarily choose normally. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly, no pressure to keep buying drinks, and we all thought it was very good value for money. Will definitely be a regular visitor.

   Fabulous food, great cocktails (Mighty Bouche and Old Fashioned excellent), great staff. My only complaint was that the bar seating was a tad restricting - facing a frosted window and on high stools that we kept slipping off. At least they were nicely padded. 100% would return - but on any other seating.

   We had a wonderful evening! The food is absolutely the best thing you can find in Exeter! The flavour combination and quality of produce is top level. We also had the drink float… all of the combinations went so well! Plus the staff and relaxed atmosphere made for a fantastic experience. Definitely worth the money!!

   Loved Stage so much. Friendly the moment of arriving with delicious and inventive food. It's comfortable, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

   It is the second time we go to Stage as a family and the whole experience was amazing. The decor is simple yet comfortable and I loved all the black and white photos on the wall. I appreciated the cloth napkins. We went for the 6 course meal and the quality, variety and flavors were incredible. Portions were a good size and even my husband felt pleasantly full. I thought the waitress was very knowledgeable and passionate about the menu. Our only negative was how smoky it was, being an open kitchen and being close to it, so our eyes were a little watery as a result. It won’t stop us from coming again!!!!! I really liked not knowing what the menu was. We will be back in the spring or summer to experiment different tastes.

   Very nice small restaurant. Was previously a cafe? Incredible variety of amazing flavours in the food and drink. Quite a youthful team, but service is great too. Some of the homemade drinks are fantastic. And care is taken with vegetarian options. Overall the team deliver an outstanding experience. It’s expensive yes. But it’s special.
