   Absolutely the best around! We have been several times and the food, drinks and atmosphere are always on point. The place is small but you don't realize that. The owners and staff work seamlessly making you feel as you're the only person in restaurant. Our favorite place to have dinner!

   The food here is always delicious and fresh. The pistachio pesto that came with the Fried Green Tomatoes on special was incredible, and we had the sea bass and the fish and grits. Delicious craft cocktails as well-- definitely recommend!

   Wonderful evening at Southern. First time that we ate out on the porch and it was very nice. It is a great restaurant.

   The ravioli special was outstanding! The best I have ever had! The whole dining experience is always a great experience. Highly recommend!!!

   We enjoyed dining at Southern. It was our first time there and had heard great things. We were a party of two and were seated on the enclosed porch among several large parties. The service was excellent and the food was delicious but we could not carry on a conversation due to the noise from the other tables. I get they were having fun but I found myself rushing through the meal so I could get out of there. Maybe the staff could think about some area rugs or baffling in the ceiling to help. Not sure I’d go back unless guaranteed inside seating.

    My wife and I were there to celebrate my wife's birthday on Saturday, Feb. 1. It is one of our favorite places to eat in Southport. We were given a gift certificate by our daughters who know how much we enjoy eating there. My wife had been looking forward to a quiet, enjoyable evening of conversation and relaxation. We were seated in the porch area which is normally a very nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, our table was next to a party of 5 and a party of 6. While our meals were very good, as was our waiter, the noise level was deafening. I couldn't hear anything except for the loud patrons behind us. It was so noisy and uncomfortable, the good food, service and evening was a bust! We planned on staying for dessert and an after dinner drink, but we couldn't handle the noise. We mentioned it to our waiter as well as the gentleman at the front. The waiter said he too had a headache from the noise. To say I am disappointed is an understatement as we have encouraged other couples to dine with you and I am not sure we will be rushing back. How unfortunate. Once again, the waiter was terrific and the food was good. Just not able to enjoy it.
