   The most significant issue was that the food was cold; lukewarm at best. Cheese inside the enchiladas was not even melted. On top of that, the service was extremely slow. 20 minutes just to get drinks. Refill for my son's lemonade never came. Server seemed angry and frustrated.

   Food is very good, but not inexpensive! I was disappointed in the $10 bowl of soup I got and wasn’t a full bowl. 🙄 The Jef burrito is very large, and my husband gets this all the time.

   Food was very good. Had the pork carnitas and combination with cheese enchilada, crispy beef taco, rice and corn. Great cocktails, Oaxaca Old Fashioned and Cadillac Margarita. Our server Nadia and her team were outstanding.

   We went to south of nicks last night and we had a great dinner. Our waiter Bryson was super attentive and gave us 5 star service. I had the ribeye and my wife had chicken taqiitos and both were spot on tasty . Best Mexican food in coastal san Diego.

   I don’t know why I’ve never reviewed South of Nick’s before, but this is hands-down one of my all-time favorite places! They never disappoint. If I’m anywhere near South of Nick’s—or even two hours away—I’ll make the trip without hesitation. Today, we were lucky to have Nadia as our server, and she was fantastic! Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely amazing. As for the food—wow. I had the Chilean Seabass, and as always, it was perfection. My husband ordered the Steak Chimichanga, upgraded with a Lobster Enchilada and beans—absolutely fantastic! We also couldn’t resist starting with the Shrimp Taquitos alongside the incredible black beans, salsa trio, and fresh tortilla chips. To top it off, I ordered the Shrimp Cabo to go, because why not extend the deliciousness to later? Every single thing we had was bursting with flavor and perfectly executed. South of Nick’s consistently delivers a phenomenal dining experience, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t been yet, go—you’re in for a treat!

    Food and service South of Nick’s (SN) is very good. While not as busy as adjacent Nick’s, I’m happy we chose SN as our first experience with the Nick restaurants. The trio of salsas were tasty, each different from each other. The chips were salted and warm. The drinks were flavorful and just the right amount to enjoy the date night. My wife got the Tacos Del Mar, ahi and she enjoyed them along with the black beans. I had the traditional carnitas, a generous portion. The surprise hit was the rice with my dish, being perhaps one of the best red rices we’ve had at a restaurant in a long while. Not dry, nice texture, and overall good flavor. The chocolate chip cake served for her birthday was excellent. Just the right amount of chocolate to end the meal. We were satisfied and happy and will try standard Nicks in the future.
