Food was great, the best thing were the drinks specially the mextada sangria. The service was 10/10 and the restaurant is beautiful

Disappointed in our dinner at Sotogrande. Food was fair at best-and presentation sub par. Service was slow and inattentive and the restaurant was not even close to full. Band outside made it hard to have a conversation. Pricy for what it was and incredibly shocked when the bill came and a gin martini was $29.90. When we complained, the Manager “comped” drinks which was the right thing to do.

The recently renovated surrounding property is beautiful, the first we have seen it. The restaurant itself was very sharp, peaceful and luxurious. The menu was small but had a great variety. Everything we tried was excellent....and we had a lot. Our server was attentive, personable and knowledgeable. For a constructive comment, the drinks at $20-25 each were very expensive (but very good) and the wine list started with basic wines in the $80 price point.

Venue is absolutely fabulous, the food is less than inspiring. Starters: Frito Mixto - calamari was rubbery and tasteless. Shishito - eh, not much to say about. Main dishes: Patatas Bravas - The papas were crispy, yet flavorless Lemon Chicken - was pasty and not enjoyable. Grilled catch - was enjoyable.

There are no outdoor tables that can accommodate groups of more than 4 people. We were 6, sitting in the back- not a great atmosphere. The lemon chicken white meat was dry. The poached pear dessert included a pear that was the size of my thumb. The skewers of swordfish and lamb were very good. Greek salad was just ok. Pass on the fritto mixto. The steak entree was VG. The Tempranillo wine was VG. The service was very good.

The food was truly amazing; especially the swordfish skewers with sauces and the octopus! The view is stunning and the restaurant is lovely. The only drawback is that it’s totally open with no AC.
