   We celebrated my husband's birthday at Soto. We made a reservation before hand through Open Table. A nice surprise when we arrived that they gave us a private room. We arrived 30 mins before Happy Hour ended so we got some drinks as well as our party had the HH Omakase for our dinner. The dishes had great presentation but more importantly all the dishes were delicious. Omakase started with sashimis, followed by nigiris, risotto or maki, hot stone wagyu beef slices, then toast with delicious poke type mixture then finally ended with yuzu sorbet bite. It was perfect amount of food. We were stuffed but satisfied. We will go again for the HH. Lots of choices on the menu to try something new or favorites. Soto was like Uchiko level quality of food. This way we don't need to drive down further for great food. Also, the service was incredible. Attentive and very friendly.

   We had a disappointing experience at Soto last night. The food was very good but the service and timing out of the kitchen was quite horrendous. We waited more than 20 minutes for cocktails because "the bartender was slammed", then our meal came out in drips and drabs with some diners in our party getting plates right away while others sat for more than 15 minutes waiting for something to eat. Soto was described in previous reviews as a special place to go for sushi. We did not find this to be the case. It was just a large average strip mall place with above average food and prices to match. Skip it an go to Uchi if you want a fine dining sushi experience.

   We had a great night. Our waiter was super attentive and the food was amazing. We had the Wagyu pot stickers, the Truffle risotto with AT Wagyu and the uni pasta and all was amazing.

   Great service and fantastic food. We were seated on time and the Chef’s Choice sashimi, sushi rolls, and flaming salmon didn’t disappoint. The sous vide pork ribs were a bit too salty and fatty, but the texture was good. We were impressed that the servers knew every item and all ingredients, even the 10 piece nigiri. Kudos to the staff and manager. Food was a bit slow to come out but perhaps due to the full house for the Valentine’s and Presidents Day weekend. We’ll definitely be back!

   They over sold reservations and put us in the private room at a long table with other guests. This was not something someone should have to deal with when paying for an expensive omakase experience.

   We were sat 20mins past our reservation on Valentine’s Day. We were offered free champagne for the wait which was very nice. The food was very good, but was left a bit hungry after the omakase. Believe something was going on in the kitchen to be backed up. Our dishes came very oddly spaced a part and we got a little bored waiting (and probably digested along the way, causing us to still be hungry). It took 2.5hrs for 10 courses. Would maybe go back because the food was very good, but probably go a la carte next time. Holidays are probably expected to be a little tough to serve, so kudos to the wait staff and kitchen for getting through it.

    Once again, Soto did not disappoint. Everything was above and beyond in service (thanks John!), quality, and overall experience.
