We enjoyed our evening. The food was perfectly executed. It was Cambodian comfort food but amped up in a very thoughtful way. There wasn’t a single thing that we didn’t enjoy. The drinks were also well crafted. I highly recommend. We also appreciated how they tied in their culture and history.

Sophon has an excellent bar program and cocktail list, and the food is unique and delicious. The welcoming atmosphere and staff make for a wonderful entry into Khmer cuisine. The menu has something for everyone including any vegans in your party. Visit Sophon and you are sure to leave feeling like you’ve been welcomed into the owners extended family and have had one of the best meals of your year all at the same time.

Wonderful experience with delicious food. Cocktails and by the glass wine prices on the higher side. Otherwise, very well priced menu.

Welcoming, enthusiastic and kind service. Food thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented and super flavorful. Warm vibes in the space and great drinks menu, both alcoholic and N/A. First time there and will definitely be back soon!

Service was attentive without being intrusive. Host set clear expectations that we had 90 minutes to eat before the next table would be seated. The N/A cocktail was excellent. Food was extremely flavorful. I always appreciate the warmth of the ambiance and intentionality of the menu message.

Food was pretty one-note and extremely salty. Lots of unctuous, savory flavors with no acid counterpoint. Pork belly came out in giant slabs of barely rendered fat. Papaya salad could’ve used a good blast of lime or other citrus, as it tasted like it was bathed in fish sauce. The ground pork was too salty to finish, though the pickled vegetables served with it were delicious. The fried chicken was superb. I’d definitely order that again. Drinks were spendy but exotic and delicious. I’ve eaten here once before (soon after they opened) and the food previously had more balance and nuance.

Been here a few times and always order the same items. The fried chicken appetizer and pork belly entree has been stellar each time. My husband gets the coulotte steak each time and complains to me every time that it's not barely warm. For a $40 entree, that's disappointing. Doubt he's game to go to Sophon again. Lovely restaurant and great service though

Dined here for the first time to celebrate a friend’s birthday. They left a little card of best wishes on the table. Service was excellent, even if the server wrote down the wrong main dish (it was a quick fix so no big deal at all). Ordered the Khlang cocktail for both of us - unique and smooth version of an Old Fashioned. Food is served “family style” for sharing everything, something I rather enjoy about the 4+ star restaurants here outside of sushi. We had the chicken thighs as a starter: very good, tender, flavorful, the dipping sauce was fantastic. For main courses: the pork belly which was divine - possibly the best I’ve ever had; the mackerel which the description lacked explaining is basically fish stew - a little too fishy for us, but the flavor was there and the fish was flaky and cooked well. I was excited to eat at one of the top 20 new places in the country (per Bon Appetit) but for me, it lacked something…something I can’t quite put my finger on. The service and the food didn’t make up for the noise level; we were also seated right by the bathrooms so there were people constantly moving around us. $160+ for the experience (2 drinks at $20 each, 1 starter and 2 main dishes + 20% tip) was more than I spent at Communion over the Christmas holidays for more more food (2 drinks, appetizer, 2 small plates, 1 main dish - we couldn’t finish it all) and if I had to pick a place to return between the two, it wouldn’t be Sophon…
