About this restaurant

  • Great for scenic views
  • Good for special occasions
  • Lively
A glasshouse restaurant, where the weather is our wallpaper. We serve breakfast and dinner 7 days a week. We do lunch on weekdays and brunch at the weekend.

Our New York – Italian menu is simple and delicious. Meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, herbs and dairy delivered daily by local suppliers. The restaurant vibe changes from a laid back sunrise through a buzzing sunset. A view like no other in Dublin, cityscape to countryside. No fuss, no formality, book a table and enjoy.

Sophie’s Bar is at the very heart of our rooftop restaurant. Pull up a stool and get comfortable at any time, day or night to take in the incredible views of the Dublin skyline while our amazing team of bartenders create a world-class cocktail for you.

Head out to our Rooftop Terrace to soak up the sun when it's hot, or wrap up in blankets under our heaters when it’s not.

Our party of four were happy with everything we ordered. I ordered the French toast and it was delicious, I will definitely order it again. I like my coffee a certain way and got it the way I like it so thanks.

Good meal with attentive service. Food was tasty but service was so quick that I had hardly started my Guinness before the food arrived. Service remained good and even included an extra Guinness free as they'd poured an extra one. Puree with the seabass was rather cool on arrival but otherwise all food excellent. Outside seats in April got a little cool, but they have heaters which you can switch on. Next time we will book a little earlier to ensure an inside seat. Good restaurant and we will go back.

Hi Alan, Thank you so much for your detailed feedback! We're really pleased to hear you enjoyed the meal and that our team looked after you well — and that the extra Guinness hit the spot! We appreciate your note about the seabass puree and the timing with your drink — your comments help us fine-tune the experience for our guests. We're glad the heaters helped take the edge off the April chill, and we look forward to welcoming you back for a cozy table inside next time! Thanks again for your kind words and for choosing us. See you again soon! 🍽️🍻 Best, The Sophies team

The pizzas were amazing! Ambience was good. Lots of oversight views of tops of buildings - but a spectacular view of the sun going down! Staff were not the politest nor the most helpful. Manager was very stressed and quite rude upon arrival - he shouted at us getting out of a lift (apparently it was overloaded, but no alarms went off and he was at the exit waiting for it to come up and was shouting and being obnoxiously rude - totally uncalled for!!!). No special requests for food would be entertained - one of our diners only wanted a plain pasta with sauce - absolutely no - yet they had pasta with something else on the menu. Not very accommodating. Due to the unhelpfulness of staff and rudeness of Manager I would not return.

Hi Gillian, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We're really pleased to hear you enjoyed the pizzas and the ambience, especially the sunset views – they truly are something special. However, we're genuinely sorry to hear that your overall experience was impacted by issues with service and communication. This is certainly not the level of hospitality we aim to provide, and we’re disappointed to hear that we fell short in making you and your guests feel welcome and well cared for. We take comments like yours seriously and will be reviewing what happened with our team to ensure a better experience for all our guests moving forward. While we regret that we didn’t meet your expectations this time. Best, The Sophies team

Loved Sophie’s Rooftop! Great atmosphere with an amazing view. Super friendly staff and perfect service. The food was absolutely delicious. Can’t recommend it enough – a must-visit spot! A special thank you to the young blonde lady who took care of us that evening – you were absolutely wonderful! Food was excellent. We had a lovely enjoyable meal as a table of 6. However it was like service knew there was a set service charge of 10%. Service was below par.

Your feedback will be shared with the team so we can learn and improve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back soon and provide the exceptional experience we’re known for. The food was terrible. We only took a bite and left right away. The fish was undercooked and completely unseasoned. The pasta was just a bowl of dry penne with no sauce or flavor. I’ve never written a bad review in my life—until now. We wasted 1.5 hours and over €100, starving. Ended up going straight to the Hard Rock Cafe afterward and finally had a proper meal.
Sophie's @ The Dean DublinResponded 6 days ago
Hi Andrew, We're truly sorry to hear about your experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback—even though we’re very disappointed to learn we let you down. What you described falls far short of the standards we set for our kitchen and service. Undercooked fish and dry pasta are simply unacceptable, and we sincerely apologize that your meal was not only unenjoyable but caused you to leave hungry and frustrated. We completely understand your disappointment, especially given the time and cost involved. This is not the kind of impression we want to leave on any of our guests. We take your comments seriously and are investigating what went wrong during your visit so we can ensure it doesn’t happen again. Sincerely, The Sophies team
