We chose the Sky Room to celebrate an anniversary because we hadn't dined there since before its massive renovation, we were aching to see the transformation, and it was always a special, romantic spot. The service is still attentive and not too intrusive, and the food is excellent. The atmosphere and decor have managed to retain a hint of the former art deco feel while still feeling new, and it still has that special celebratory sensation (the view remains breathtaking). That the restaurant is now atop a luxury hotel again rather than an assisted living facility probably improves the overall atmosphere (the storied Breakers was built in 1926 and served as one of the THE places to stay, at least for a while; it later became an assisted living center, until it was purchased by the Fairmont chain in the 2010s and returned to luxury hotel status). Finally, the food was well-prepared, served expeditiously, and delicious, and the waiter was quite helpful with navigating a food allergy. Our only, small critique is that the menu was a bit limited in choices, partly because nearly everything contained egg, the one item my husband is allergic to! But we will definitely be back! And we recommend saving some time to visit the rooftop club or the jazz bar!

The newly remodeled Sky Room is certainly expensive, but well worth it if you want an elegant dinner for a special occasion. We had the beef Wellington. It was outstanding . My wife really enjoyed her martini. All in all a fabulous night.

This is the second time that we’ve gone to the restaurant after their grand reopening, and it couldn’t be any better. The servers are amazing, the food is delectable and each time it has been amazing. I would recommend anyone to come to the restaurant if they want a really good meal. I honestly compare this to Hells kitchen in Las Vegas. Their beef Wellington is far more superior than that of chef Ramsey. Sorry Gordon! Something about a Wagyu A5 beef that screams YUM

The food was wonderful and we’ll be back. The hostesses were cold and unwelcoming to such a beautiful restaurant. The runner, I think her name was Yella, was exceptional. Always asking if there was something else she could bring us.

They dress coded my girlfriend because her skirt was too short. Pretty unbelievable in Long Beach.

Nestled high above the bustling Ocean Boulevard, The Sky Room offers not just a meal but an experience steeped in opulence and elegance. From the moment you step off the elevator, you're enveloped in a world where culinary artistry meets breathtaking views that stretch across the skyline and out to the coastline. This is fine dining at its peak—both literally and figuratively. The ambiance of The Sky Room is nothing short of enchanting. Soft, ambient lighting casts a warm glow over plush furnishings, while floor-to-ceiling windows provide panoramic vistas that transform with each passing hour—from golden sunsets to glittering city lights. Every detail has been crafted for comfort and sophistication. As we settled into our seats, Manager Courtney M. welcomed us with genuine warmth, acknowledging our return as if we were old friends. The hostesses Jessy and JoAnna added to this inviting atmosphere with their friendly smiles and attentiveness. Our server David was a true gem among waitstaff. With his extensive knowledge of the menu and impeccable attention to detail, he made us feel as though we were guests at an exclusive gala rather than diners in a restaurant. His recommendations guided us through an exquisite culinary journey starting with a refreshing beet salad leading up to the highlight: the Maine Diver Scallops served with roasted cauliflower, fried capers, romanesco, and ivory sauce. The crispy Dungeness Crab Cake arrived beautifully plated—truly a piece of art—and bursting with soft succulent crab flavor complemented by smoked trout roe and caviar butter; it was an oceanic delight that danced between sweet and savory leaving us craving more. Then there was The Sky Room Caesar—a delicate assembly of grated egg atop fresh romaine drizzled with anchovy breadcrumbs—gentle yet harmoniously stacked into delightful perfection. To complement our meal further, we explored their impressive wine list curated from regions around the globe—an adventure unto itself!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in the Sky Room. especially notable was our server, Marisa, who though new was very professional. The Oysters Rockefeller and our 2 salads - beet and Butter Garden - were both excellent. The atmosphere is definitely "old school" including the decor, the menu and the service.
