Two of us dined here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Appetizers were very good (beet salad and she crab soup), but the main entrees (duck & pork chop) were only OK. Pork chop was well cooked, but the sear made it taste mostly of charcoal and overpowered the other tastes. It was moist but fairly tough. Carrots were hard and bitter and purple cauliflower just looked strange! My wife said the duck was very good, but also avoided the veggies. Biggest surprise and disappointment were the dessert offerings. My wife was offered a free selection from the dessert menu for her birthday (which was nice), but it turns out that all four selections contain High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) to which she is allergic. We have never encountered this problem at a high-end restaurant before - typically they make their desserts from scratch (HFCS is found in low-end processed ingredients). Even their ice cream had it! We ended up having dessert at home.

The service was excellent but I was a little disappointed in the duck dish I had. It was too “busy” with fruit and add ons. My companion had a steak which he said was too salty. It overall, we enjoyed our evening. The staff was very friendly and accommodating

Shoemaker has been one of my favorite places to eat while in town. Service, food and drinks are the best. It’s a place where you can relax and catch up with friends while having a great meal together. Highly recommended. Gluten free options.

All staff were warm and efficient however both entries had vegetables that were virtually raw and totally distracted from the dishes served.

From the pork roll and beet salad starters, to the main course pork chops and chicken and dessert, this meal was top notch and worth every penny. Excellent dining experience and service.

Delicious food! Friendly service! Great drinks! Only downside was no one at the hostess stand so we had a bit of a wait, and no one answered the phone when we called. Probably just because they were busy!
