Meal was barely warm. Everything was tasty but barely warm. We had iced tea and it was almost just colored water. When they brought out the apple pie for dessert it was still frozen. I said it should be warm and they said it is kept in the cooler. Out first time here and I’m guessing theirs for Thanksgiving as well just our experience

Shirley Brasserie was a wonderful dining experience that paired the great atmosphere of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel with great food. The Restaurant occupies a quiet part of the Lobby area and is large enough to find seating but intimate enough to feel separated from other diners. The menu is spartan but focused, as is the wine list. The appetizers we had were first-rate and handsomely presented. I would recommend the chicken liver mousse, as it was special and hadn't seen it elsewhere. I consider myself an expert on duck and generally prefer it roasted, as many restaurants don't really have the expertise to properly sear it. Not true here. The duck was properly spiced and glazed and seared just right. For this style of preparation, I've not had better. The Shirley Brasserie is not inexpensive, but considering the quality of the food and service (which was also outstanding), I would rate it as a good value. Something for a special occasion.

Shirley's food is very good, well prepared. I wish the menu offered just a few other dishes and was sad to see the beet salad removed from the current menu. Roasted chicken is the best in Los Angeles. Our server, Ray, was great! We'll be back for this very solid restaurant.

My wife and I have lived our entire lives in LA and never got to the Rosevelt Hotel or Shierley’s. I can certainly recommend this restaurant to visitors and locals. The Ceasar salad dressing was homemade with a real tang. My wife’s salmon was nicely broiled in a wood fired stove and my beef was outstanding. We will be back.

Food and service were terrific! Room beautiful!Only thing that spoiled the experience was the music - 80s (Blondie/Jesus and Mary Chain) in this authentic 30s setting. Some light jazz or classic French tunes would have created the ultimate experience!

The steak, fries and starters were excellent, but one of our party had the burger which was boring, the type of cheese not a great addition to the flavor. Service was friendly, but close to non-existent. Disappointing, expensive evening.

Outstanding from the time the charming hostess greeted us to the service and delivery of our food. My husband and I weren't famished so we split a French Onion Soup (outstanding!), an order of brussel sprouts (yum!) and a Branzino (perfectly cooked with a delicious topping. ) Drinks were tasty but expensive ($22 for a marg), and as others have noted, there was an 18% service charge added to our bill. We sat at the romantic corner table named after Frank Sinatra. The restaurant is located in the historic Roosevelt Hotel. All around great experience and we would definitely return!
