About this restaurant

Open For Take-Out & Delivery Daily from 11:00 am-7:00 pm starting Tuesday March 31, 2020!

The Seven Stars Inn is the original Chester County steakhouse. We may be new to OpenTable, but we have been wowing our guests for over 275 years by featuring overly generous portions of the finest beef, veal and seafood served in a gracious white table cloth atmosphere. Legend has it that the Inn even served President George Washington himself in this very same historic building set in scenic Chester County.

The cocktail lounge is warm and inviting, and the well thought out wine list includes a broad spectrum of varietals and geographic origins.

Family friendly, the Seven Stars has not only a great Children’s Menu but also a Young Adult’s Menu. Both of these menus scale down the size of the serving and price of their offerings to help mom and dad afford an evening out with the whole family.

All major credit cards are welcomed.

The service is the main complaint. Took 10-15 min for someone to come to our table when we first sat down, once we ordered, our salad came before our cocktails. Why does it take 30 min to get cocktails…I literally could see, almost touch the bar from our table. The exception is the water boy. He was wonderful and attentive. Bread, good, took a while to come but they forgot to serve it with butter so we had to track our waitress down to bring some. The service eventually picked up mid meal but it should have been spot on from the beginning. Food was good, but for what you pay it was not outstanding but large portions. Then the bill came with a service charge ( $8) and I assume it was for paying with credit but no explanation was given to us what this charge was or the heads up on it beforehand. Having been to this restaurant years ago the menu seems more limited than it once was and higher priced.

The meal was very tasty but menu is very expensive. The ambience doesn’t match the costly expense.

It was our waitress’s first day. We were ok with that but everything we asked her she had to go ask the chef. Seems like she wasn’t trained or had good knowledge of the menu. By the time we got out entrees we had already been there over an hour. We didn’t care for our entrees. The clam chowder was more like potato soup with pieces of clam. I didn’t care for my seafood pasta dish. All the seafood was very chewy. My husband got a chicken dish. Some sort of non-crab cake thing was delivered to me with two shrimp. It was to go with the chicken dish. We’ve eaten here several times and it was not the quality in food or service like we remember. We probably won’t go back but if we do it’ll be a while. The prices were very ridiculously expensive. $160 later plus tip and no alcohol.

Steaks were still huge, but all were under cooked and had to be sent back. Stuffed Lobster under cooked and diner thought tasted sketchy. Vegetables were medium sized. Prices used to be the value part of Seven stars, NO LONGER...entrees were $96.00 each !

Another outstanding dinner including a special vegetarian dish not on the regular menu. Trudi & Donna are excellent mixologists and servers as we dined at the bar. Looking forward to another visit when in the area.

I’m sad to say it was the worst meal I’ve had at Seven Stars in 30 years of going there. The stuffed flounder was inedible. The fish was chewy and the crabmeat was stringy, all drowned in a bad hollandaise sauce. the Queen’s filet was cooked well but the quality of the meat was tasteless and the texture was mushy. The crabmeat for the oscar topping was plentiful but dry and the asparagus was hard to find on the plate. The dessert was no better. Our waitress was great - the one good thing about the evening. But even as we explained how disappointed we were by the meal, there was no manager on site to speak with. On a Friday night, we were one of two tables in the place. We won’t go back and will be surprised if it’s still there in a year. Just a really sad dining experience for a restaurant that has been around forever

Menu was outrageously, shockingly overpriced. I live near the restaurant but will never eat there again.
