Serenade American Brasserie reimagines a classic brasserie through a Lone Star lens, creating one of Austin’s most central and relaxed dining destinations. Welcome to a place where the allure of French oak meets the draw of Texas smoke.

Featuring locally-sourced dishes for all day dining, Serenade offers elevated comfort food in a setting that is both approachable and tranquil. The cocktails are bespoke and inventive, the wine list is globally curated, and the beer selection ranges from European specialties to local Austin brews. Serenade is led by Chef Johnny Ray Stinebaugh, with menu development overseen by W Austin’s Executive Chef Manuel Rodriguez.

Located on the ground floor of W Austin, Serenade spans an inviting indoor-outdoor and day-to-evening space. In the dining room and at the large focal point bar, double-height ceilings enhance the soft, golden light, while avian motifs appear throughout.

Please do not overbook your guests in the future. We ended up waiting an hour and 10 minutes with a reservation (we were told 20 more minutes a few times which was annoying). we pre-paid the whole dinner in advance so we couldn’t even walk away Even if we didn’t have to wait, food wasn’t that great so it made us more upset. Overpriced. Slow service. after we got seated, took 10 minutes for a server to come to our table. Took additional 20 minutes to finally get our drinks We will not come back

We came in for a 7pm bar seat reservation on Valentine’s Day and didn’t get seated until 8:15, and that was after pointing out to the hostess that there was a ton of empty bar sets, to which she replied, “oh,” and then sat us. Once seated we were ignored for 15 minutes before our order was taken, but then we finally ordered the Valentine’s Day menu with the wine pairings. We noticed there was still a bunch of people in the waiting room wanting to be seated, and we were surrounded by a ton of empty seats and tables in the dining room, so the whole thing was super confusing. For the first course, we both did the hamachi crudo paired with Chardonnay (which didn’t come out until after 9pm) and while the dish was pretty good, they gave us our wine pairings 10 minutes after our food came out and it wasn’t even Chardonnay (it was Prosecco lol). Also, even though we got the same meal, one of ours came out on a plate and the other one came out in a bowl. Not the best look. For the second course, we waited more because they forgot what course we were on and had to ask and figure it out. I got scallops while my fiancé got the short rib. We got our correct wine pairing and the scallops were good, but the short rib tasted like a typical mid budget catering meal. The last part was the dessert, which was probably the best part. The presentation was really nice and it tasted good. We asked for the bill when the dessert came out but we didn’t get it for another 20 minutes. At this point the dining room was pretty empty but we still saw people waiting to be seated. When we finally got the bill, a waitress came out to give us someone else’s order of scallops and at this point we thought it was a joke considering how empty the dining room was and how hard it is to mess it up at that point. In summary, this place was woefully unprepared and did not rise to the occasion, but it was at a point where it was pretty comical and entertaining for my fiancé and I so we had fun.

It was a preset menu for Valentine’s Day. The food looked and tasted like something you would get in a banquet hall, and the service was extremely slow and terrible. Then the bill was inaccurate when delivered at the end. The decor, layout and atmosphere of the restaurant was nice.

We truly enjoyed our Valentines Prix Fixe with wine paring immensely! Over the top! The wines were special, pulled from the "rarer" parts of the cellar. All 3 courses were creative and excellent. Our waiter, Rhett, was superlative. The experience could not have been better.

We had the prefix meal for the Valentines dining. I ordered a wine pairing for each course. Unfortunately, the wine came much later than the food. I mentioned to the manager, and he promptly credited my bill on the wine pairing. I thought that was very fair.

We sat at the bar with 4 employees behind the bar. None of them acknowledged us for over 10 minutes.

This is a great concept however, the service was absolutely terrible. If I could give no stars I would. The food was just OK. Nothing to write home about.

For starters, one of the items I ordered was not available. Then the Gougeres arrived excessively toasted and they were not tasty. Then I ordered Blue Crab Benedict and it was mediocre. The Apple tart had the apples completely caramelized and too sweet. The vanilla ice cream that accompanied the tart was solid and small. Even though the decoration of the restaurant was very pleasing, and there was no noise because it was almost empty, I don't recommend this restaurant.
