   We were surprised to see such an empty restaurant on a Wednesday evening, but we were treated like members of the Bavarian Royal family. The food was very authentic and satisfied our German food fix. The full bar is yet another reason to go more often…

   Your details for this restaurant are very misleading. You imply fine dinning, when the ambiance is more similar to a fast-food venue. Moreover, the German cuisine is very southern German and is very different from what you would find in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Hamburg. Waitress was exceptionally helpful.

   Wow! This place is SO good! I was surprised my husband chose this of the 4 places I suggested because he is not generally a big fan of German food. We have had some good German food at other places but not anything earth-shattering UNTIL LAST NIGHT. I, of course, read the reviews to help us select what we were going to choose. But, that went out the window with some of the new items that were recently added. Amanda was our server and so friendly. We enjoyed talking to her. Her suggestions and menu descriptions were helpful. We started out with a wine flight and a cocktail. I moved the creative wine selections, none of which I had tried in the past which was fun. We liked all of them. My husband opted for the coffee cocktail and it was delicious. For the meal, we decided to get a few items and split them. We started with the onion soup. This was like no other we have had. I read that it was best other had tried and I completely agree. I am not sure if it was the Irish whiskey or the cheddar but dang. My husband despises onions and he really liked it too. We got into it immediately and before the photo! We also ordered the sausages and mashed potatoes app. This was a hefty portion. Super creamy mashed potatoes, very sour sauerkraut and excellent sausage. It was a meat blend with pork and beef so different than I had in the past. Another item my husband doesn’t usually like and enjoyed. Next up, we tried for the duck special of the evening my but they didn’t have it due to the storm so we opted for the cubed duck with dumplings. Another fantastic dish. We had quite a bit of leftovers. It’s not cheap but well worth the price! For the atmosphere, they tout an upscale vibe but I didn’t get that at all. It’s quite bright in there and reminds me of a German food hall, uncomfortable wooden benches and all. (Out of room, see Yelp for full review)

   Everything was great. Pretzels are served at room temp so if your expecting a hot pretzel - like at some other German resteraunts, your not going to get it. However the pretzel was great and food was amazing. Status very attentive and welcoming. Beer is fantastic. A great addition to downtown culinary scene. Hope they stay business for a long time. If you live German food and drink. Got try the Stub!

    1st time dining here. Service was hit and miss. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, but seemed to be hard to find. And it wasn't that busy at the time we were there. Took a long time to receive 1 drink from the bar. Food was very good. Potato salad was cold? Always thought German Potato salad was warm? Maybe not..... 3 piece band set up. LOUD. Since they were advertising Octoberfest I thought more traditional music would have been played......nope. Party of 4, we all thought the food was very good.
