   Overall a great place to dine. The staff were very professional. The kitchen was a bit overwhelmed with the influx of many guests at one moment due to a nearby event ending. We were part of the collateral damage of that. Even with our reservation, he wait was very long. But we were in no rush and patiently waited at the bar and the chef offered us a very nice complimentary appetizer and dessert. I ordered the veal scalopini which was phenomenal! My guest ordered the spaghetti and meatball which was beyond generous and delicious. We will be back again.

   Very disappointed. Put in reservation for window table a week in advance and was not given requested table. When asked about it, the waiter and host, didn't work to accommodate it. When we sat down, we were but 2 seated tables with the table I requested open for another 30min before someone sat down. Service: Waiter was smug and slow. Had to wait for silverware, salad and pepper and drink refills too long. Food: ordered 2 steaks, both were undercooked, especially the Medium-well we orderded; it came out medium rare. Asked to recook (waiter didn't check on doness with us, we had to inform him). They brought it back still undercooked. Lobster tail was dry and stuck to shell Mushroom pasta was lacking enough sauce and was dry. Meatball was hard and dry and overcooked. Tomato was plain and boring. Salmon was delicious. Overall: really disappointed that we didn't get a discount and / or a new steak. Really disappointed no management came to talk to us. Really disappointed we didn't get seating requested. Overall very poor experience. Spent $400 on a sub-par meal; no plans to return. Plenty of other places that are much better and less expensive Disappointed and underwhelmed

   We eat here almost every time we come to Albuquerque. Has been consistently good for 20+ years. This evening we started with the burrata which was very tasty. Wife had the tagliatelle and I had the cavatelli pasta. Both were delicious. Cocktails we started with were prepared perfectly. Decent wine list with a good selection of by the glass wines. Service was a bit slow due to several large tables and being one server short, but the manager checked on us several times and our server was friendly and efficient.

   A lovely evening. We were seated near a VERY loud table, and Trinity - our waitperson - moved us and provided excellent service all evening long. I highly recommend Scalo and will be returning.

   We have been dining at Scalo pretty much since it opened back in the 20th century. We've had many delightful meals, and enjoyed the location, the ambience and the service. We returned this time after some months, hoping to revisit good times. We arrived on time for a 7:15 reservation, awaiting the host's return to the reception desk. Once we were seated, it took nearly half an hour for our server to greet us. He was gracious and apologetic. We gave him drink orders, including a bottle of Pellegrino, which meant more minutes passed before we even got water. We ordered salads and entrees. The salads came long before our drink orders--the server said the bartender was slammed. Finally we got our drinks. Entrees came about 8:15. Two of us ordered pasta, the third ordered chicken and was served veal (though the expediter realized his mistake and then brought the right order with apologies). The food was. . .okay. But the wait wasn't worth it. I'm sorry to say, this was a pretty big disappointment at a restaurant we've loved.

   Our food was delicious. I had the piccata. My friend had the pasta with eggplant. The cocktails were also outstanding. And it is very clean and comfortable. Our waiter Sergio was distracted and forgot to bring my drink. But definitely a wonderful go to for a nice night out. The bar was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

   I don’t know what happened to Scalo, but this was the first truly bad meal I’ve had there in 15 years.

   Much better than the last time. I'm glad we tried again. Very attentive staff and excellent waiter. Food high quality. Great wine. Excellent experience with another couple before concert.

   So we go to Scalo several times a year. This year we made a reservation thinking it would be busy no the weekend after Thanksgiving. We arrived on time, were sat quickly but the restaurant was almost empty. No problem. The issue we had was there seemed to be only 1 maybe 2 waiters on staff but even with only 2-3 tables the service was really slow. We almost had to find and track down someone to take our order then it seemed like for ever to get our food and after the meal waiting to be asked if we wanted desert or coffee again seemed like for ever. you would look around and there was no one around. Only person we saw a lot of was the young lady refilling our water glasses. Just not great service for an empty restaurant even if there were only 2 staff waiting tables and two cooks. Also the food today was just ok. Not horrible but we have had way better meals at Scalo over the years. So not the best. Will try again in a few months and hope it gets better.

    Scale seems to have very good days and ok days. I've never had a bad meal or bad service, but yesterday was toward the low end of the range. The sauce on the pasta was surprisingly ungenerous, the bread was not particularly fresh, and the server seemed a bit distracted, or perhaps overstretched.
