   The food was incredible. I usually hesitate to get surf and turf because I am usually disappointed. The steak AND the lobster were excellent. Service and ambience were amazing for a spectacular valentines dinner. The place was packed but not too noisy and didn’t slow our service down.

   Always a great time and meal. We always start with a shrimp cocktail and garlic bread then also share a meal. We still brought leftovers home.

   This is my favorite restaurant and we were celebrating two birthdays we come here every year. I had made reservations weeks ago and specifically asked to be put at a table for eight so that way would not be crunch because that’s often our experience there when we arrived at the restaurant, they stuck us up in a bar, gave us a four top and a little tiny bar table for the rest of us, needless to say, we are extremely disappointed. The manager eventually gave us another table and one of the chairs was in front of a pole so the person couldn’t move. I was very upset that I had a reservation that was not honored at all, and I had called the afternoon of our event to be sure we were given a table with ample room and instead it was like they just didn’t even have our reservation.

   Simply one of the finest meals, start to finish, I have ever had. Everything was exceptional. We started with a large wedge salad, and who would think that a stand-out? But it was, dressed with balsamic, and the bacon bits were smoked and slightly charred, the tomatoes I think the same treatment, and the blue cheese was just the right amount, not overwhelming the salad. I ribbed my husband about ordering a large (half a head of lettuce) but we ate every bite. We had a hard time not ordering one of their fresh fish specials (delivered daily) but we each had a different hankering, him for seafood pasta, and me for cioppino. I tasted his very light cream sauce and it was very flavorful and abundant with shrimp, clams, mussels. I’ve had cioppino around the country, including several times in SanFran and never had better. The broth was outstanding, and loaded with a full lobster tail, clams, mussels and large shrimp. Even the garlic bread was perfect. Service was attentive without being annoying. Meal with 1 drink each, salad two entrees and 2 desserts (creme brulee and key lime pie made onsite, also terrific) was 150$ which included tax. The only caveat is parking, which is mandatory valet at 8$. You could park on street if it’s not busy, otherwise parking is a hassle. We may go back this week just for the fresh fish…

    We always forget about the Rusty Pelican, and it was good as usual. Its prices are still pretty good and not too out of control. If you want romance not the place to be. It's a little noisy. All in all, a very nice evening.
