About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for groups
  • Lively
Rumi's Kitchen first opened more than a decade ago in Atlanta, the result of years of development by Chef / Owner Ali Mesghali. Showcasing the flavors of Iran -- fresh herbs, kabobs cooked over an open-fire grill -- quickly won loyal guests at the original location in Sandy Springs, GA and set us on pace to open our first restaurant outside of Georgia in 2020. Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet whose words and life teach us how to find inner peace, happiness and love. We invite you to Rumi’s Kitchen where fresh, healthy food and attentive Persian hospitality await you.

The food (kabobs) were delicious but the Lamb shank was not . It was too much fat on the lamb jeopardizing the flavor as my friend that was visiting complained badly . He is a world traveler and a foodie . Other than that it was fine. In case I take someone for dinner I will not recommend this dish .

For context my visit was a busy Saturday night, and unfortunately for my visit my group had to wait over an hour to be sat for our reservation. The restaurant had clearly allowed too many reservations. To add to this, many, many tables were sitting at their tables already paid up, and not being turned over which made things worse. You cannot do both, and sadly the wait was so bad that even the small deduction from the check could not save things.

We love this restaurant for the food, ambience and extraordinary service …. portions are really great ( so sick of other restaurants that charge high prices for “small plates’!). Jack is a phenomenal manager … treats us like we are family ❤️. Last night we had Zack as our server, his first night, and he was exceptional!

Food was very good. Service was attentive. A billing error (one item charged twice) was quickly fixed. But the place was REALLY loud—hard to have a conversation.

Great food always and service is good. My friends and I go once a month. Sometimes it feels rushed because reservations are timed. All in all, highly recommend.

Great food and excellent service! The Chilean Sea Bass and hanger steak were grilled to perfection. My new favorite cocktail is the SS Poet. It was flavorful and something to look forward to on my next visit.
