   Underwhelmed by our first visit to Roy’s. It didn’t match up to the positive comments on Facebook in terms of both food and service. Pasta servings were large but perhaps a bit too much. Fish dish lacked presentation. It would be helpful to sort out the issue with the front door rather than relying on customers to read the sign about closing it. I had to get up at least 6 times during my meal to close the door to prevent the cold air circulating round our table (situated right at the front of the entrance).

   Many thanks for your review. As always we take all our reviews very seriously and on this occasion, we apologise that we did not meet your expectations. Our pasta dishes are of normal size and there is always the opportunity to take away any remaining dishes if our guests are too full up to finish them. We apologise that you thought our fish dish lacked presentation and will certainly let our chefs know about your comment. With regards to the door, unfortunately, if a guest does not close the door, even though there are clear signs to do this during the winter months, our staff try their best to close it, but being a busy restaurant, sometimes on occasions, this may not happen! We rely on our guests to close the door properly upon entering and exiting the restaurant.

   Thoroughly enjoyed Roys resturant, as always the staff are very pleasant and accommodating. The food is always lovely especially the Steaks.

   This is our second visit to Roy's, we were not disappointed. We had a three course dinner, the food was superb, the staff are professional without being stuffy, we simply love this restaurant and will return again soon.

   We went to Roy’s for a birthday lunch. On arrival it was very difficult to catch the attention of a waitress and we ended up waiting around 30mins before ordering food. This wasn’t a great start but once we ordered, the food was very tasty and the service very friendly and helpful.

   Thank you for taking the time in reviewing us and bringing this to my attention. I apologise for the disappointment you had with the service. Unfortunately on that specific lunchtime we had some FOH staff off sick which meant that there was a decrease in staff working that period. Nevertheless, you should not have waited 30 minutes for your order to be taken and I can only apologise for this inconvenience. I have spoken to my team and hopefully, they have taken onboard the comments in your review and will improve on their service if ever we encounter the same staffing problem. Kind regards Alison.

    Perfect restaurant for a very tasty lunch on a Friday with a good friend. We weren’t hurried at all, plenty of time to chat. Delightful staff and good lunch deal which includes a glass of wine. Will definitely use more often this winter.
