We've been coming here for the Christmas buffet for many, many years. However, over the past 2 years the prices have been way too high even for this special occasion.                                                                                                                                                           We have been loyal patrons of Rita’s Cantina since 2008, frequently enjoying what was once an establishment of quality and respect for its customers. However, after today’s experience, I can unequivocally say we will never return. The bill for our party of three came to an eye-watering $647. Let me break this down: $165 per person for the buffet, $53 in taxes, and, shockingly, a mandatory 20% gratuity—totaling $99 for “service.” For what? One brief visit from our waitress, Mariana, to ask if we wanted something to drink. No additional effort, no attentiveness, no refills, nothing. To make matters worse, Mariana appeared to be paying close and consistent attention to two other tables nearby, yet completely avoided us for the duration of our meal. If Mariana had shown even the slightest interest in providing us with proper service—especially on Christmas Day—we would have gladly given far more than the mandatory 20%. Gratuity, by definition, should reflect the quality of service provided. Forcing such a charge when the service was utterly lacking is both insulting and exploitative. This was not an upscale fine-dining experience with attentive service—it was a buffet. For a buffet to demand this kind of price tag, especially without delivering even basic hospitality, is appalling. It is devastating to think that an establishment we’ve supported for over 15 years would resort to such practices. Rita’s Cantina has clearly lost sight of what made it special: its loyal customers. Instead, it has chosen to prioritize profit over hospitality. We will be taking our business elsewhere, and I will be encouraging everyone I know to avoid this place until they reassess their practices. Shame on you, Rita’s Cantina.

The wait staff preformed admirable, the presentation of the dishes was perfect. Thank you all!
