At Restaurant 1818 you will dine in what was originally the Men's and Ladies’ Parlors of the Main House. These two parlors are adorned with authentic period crystal gasoliers. These impressive reproduction chandeliers and wall sconces were custom made for Monmouth by the artisans at Waterford Crystal in Ireland.

Guests have complete dining freedom when they reserve a table at Restaurant 1818. Here guests can select menu items on an a la carte basis from the gourmet appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts offered that evening. A full wine list and wine by the glass program is available to ensure your dining experience is the very best Natchez has to offer!

Private dining by candlelight is also offered for 8 to 12 people at the main dining room table. This room exemplifies the elegant dining experience which has been customary since the days of John and Eliza Quitman.

1818 at Monmouth is an exquisite restaurant. The minute you walk through the front door you feel welcome. You leave the outside world behind , you have entered another realm. There is a sense of calm and tranquility. The quiet and relaxing atmosphere often with soft music playing or sometimes a live pianist filling the home with melodic splendor. The service is excellent and attentive . I have tried several items in the menu . My favorite is the filet mignon. I tried the seasonal butternut squash soup on my last visit which was perfection. They have a nice wine list and all the appetizers are good as well as the gumbo . If you wish to plan a romantic weekend trip , please support Natchez and stay at Monmouth and visit 1818. You will not be disappointed.

This was the best meal we had in Natchez during our two night stay. Try the fried green tomato appetizer!

The beauty and grandeur of this remarkably preserved historical mansion and expansive grounds delights the senses and provides a wonderful backdrop for the traveler looking for a stopover for a time of rest and reflection. The cottages surrounding the historical home are each their own inviting small pieces of the luxury with comfortable yet period decor. The charming path through the patio and walkways to the garden room for breakfast is magical. The indoor/outdoor seating with a vine covered patio was one of our preferred spots. Along the paths can be found Missy the black and white cat sunning or dining al fresco with her forest friends. All this bring said our visit was marred by our dining experience in the famed Restaurant 1818. The restaurant is divided into two sections separated by a entryway and hall. One side is small tables for dining guests. The other is one room with principally one table for large parties. With the large parties comes a lot of noise that easily carries over into the dining room for small tables of two and four parties. The set up made us immediately unhappy with our decision to dine at Restaurant 1818. A noisy loud party which was also occupying our server’s time ruined the ambiance. The manager should seriously reconsider seating large groups in the main house as if it were a convention center. The larger indoor/outdoor setting of the garden room would be more suitable for this. The expensive fine dining small setting in the main house was not appropriate.

Outstanding service. Tasty meal. Was unable to dine in the house/restaurant as expected and as per my understanding when the reservation was made on Open table. Instead we were seated at a small table in an area that was attached to the bar. This was due to the house being reserved for a large group. Very disappointed since in the past was able to dine in the restaurant. Staff said I had been informed of the seating situation, but did not see any notification from Open Table.

Absolutely loved the Restaurant 1818 located in Monmouth Mansion in Natchez! Driveway driving in could use repair especially driving at night to dodge big washout in gravel. Very exceptional experience for special, elegant dining! The beginner biscuits were yummy. The filet was cooked perfectly rare plus and the bread pudding was exceptionally delicious!!! The staff was very professional and well trained. Drove in from Memphis and Destin.

Overall, it was a great dining experience for a 50th wedding anniversary dinner. My wife had several gluten free options to select from the menu. From appetizer to dessert, all of our food choices were exceptional. The only negative aspect of our experience was being told upon arrival that we would be seated in the bar area rather than the main dining room, despite having made the dinner reservation about two months in advance and a nearly empty dining room at the time we arrived. When I firmly expressed my dismay at the proposed seating arrangement, the staff quickly made an adjustment and seated us in the main dining area.

It was, yet again, a wonderful meal and experience! We had the grilled veal chop, cooked to perfection, and the duck. The sides went perfectly with the meat. Our server Rianna was great! Such a beautiful and elegant atmosphere. We walked the beautiful gardens before dinner, which is a can't miss opportunity. We will be back!
