Repeal is Whiskey Row’s only oak-fired steakhouse, located at the birthplace of J.T.S. Brown & Sons Bourbon Company in Louisville. A stylish departure from a traditional steakhouse, Repeal uses a wood-fired grill stoked daily with reclaimed American Oak bourbon barrels. Repeal is a tribute to the Repeal of Prohibition – a place to see, be seen and celebrate the rich tradition of the building in which it resides.

We had a lovely experience for our anniversary! We felt so cared for and special. Josh was an incredible server and the food was incredible! My only note is to add more options for gluten free friends!

We had a really great dinner! Excellent food and excellent service. The bread, oysters Rockefeller, Caesar salad, French onion soup, A5 Wagyu, repeal style steak, mashed potatoes, and mushrooms are all delicious options I can recommend. All the desserts are wonderful too. If you’re able to request Mikaela as your server your experience will be put over the top with the best service. We’re very happy with our dining experience here and look forward to when we can return.

Great drinks at the Bar and Dinner in the restaurant! Weller Antique was amazing! Best Crab Cakes! All 3 cuts of Steak were great! Amazing Service by Josh! Brian GM was outstanding! Can’t beat the cheesecake!

It was very disappointing that the previous chef seems to have taken his excellent chicken sausage recipe with him. We were excited to have it, talked it up to our guests - and what arrived was NOT what we’d had in the past. Very disappointing, and made one of our party sick.

The service was over the top! We had the barrel cut filet cooked medium rare with the bourbon peppercorn sauce with a lobster tail add on and it was the best steak I’ve ever had. We also had the lobster Mac & Cheese which was over the top! We finished off the meal with the bread pudding and it was the best EVER! Totally recommend Repeal if you’re in Louisville.

Josh and his helpers did an amazing job of making sure that our dinner was perfect. We have dined at Repeal multiple times now and can’t think of any suggestions to suggest.
