   I have also shared this review on Google. I had been recommended this restaurant by a friend who spoke most highly of the food on offer! I looked at your social media, and the video of your Beef Rib literally sliding off the bone had me salivating in anticipation. Unfortunately, our experience at Red Dog Saloon was poor, to put it mildly. The two courses I had were the Fried Oysters and the Long Horn Beef Rib. The oysters were virtually inedible, they are the saltiest thing I’ve ever tasted - and to be clear, I like oysters, I’ve enjoyed them on many occasions at other establishments. The saltiness of them was not helped by the fact that for some reason they were served on a literal bed of salt. Despite my disappointing starter, I was still looking forward to my tender Beef Rib… unfortunately whoever cooked the one for the social media page didn’t seem to be working this evening. My beef rib required hacking off the bone - not an easy task with a blunt table knife and then proved to be thick as old boots. The staff didn’t ask how our food was during our meal, and didn’t seem bothered that they had taken most of a hacked away at Beef Rib from me when clearing our table. I cannot speak for each of the fellow patrons who visited with me, but a couple of them confided in me that their experience had certainly not been what they had expected either, including a number of them having to ask for new plates as they had been given obviously dirty ones. The other reviews I have seen, and the testimony of others who have visited before make me sure that tonight was an anomaly, however, it was my honest experience. Unappatising food, tough meat, dirty toilets and inattentive staff lead me to leaving this review. To be fair, the staff did happily bring out the birthday cake and candles that we provided them with at the start of our meal and this made for a nice moment. And, my wife enjoyed her chicken tenders very much.

   Absolutely cracking evening! The food was amazing and the platter was huge! Definitely very filling and good value for money. Staff were excellent and attentive! Would recommend to anyone who wants good bbq!

   Finally a decent place in Southampton serving good quality American style BBQ / Burgers. Is it pricey? Not really as to get anything near this quality you will have to travel. Southampton is in dire need of more restaurants of this calibre. Definitely go again.

   Kids meals were fab and great value. Macaroni was incredible. We had the oregan platter was very nice meat but potatoes lumpy and beans inedible. Don't think it was worth £69 we paid. No way near enough sauce. Had to share the sausage. Chicken wings were the best! Staff were friendly and helpful but we had to call them over to us each time for ice cream, drinks, bill. And they only serve 1 type of pudding!

   Great experience for our first visit. The food was so tasty couldn't fault it. They even made a special effort for my husbands birthday, a tasty dessert with a candle :)

   Fantastic mouth-watering food as ever - everything from burgers to ribs to the chicken is superb. Great range of spirits as well, though it would be nice to see their cocktail range expanded. Highly recommend.

    Been here lots and usually love everything! Cronus burger-changed recipe (swapped hot links sausage for chorizo which is less tasty and tougher to chew through). Pickles were forgotten and there was no red dog sauce any longer. Tried the new roast-very small portion considering the price, arrived basically cold and the roast wasn't actually available until 1pm (even though we arrived at 12pm and were only informed of this after we'd ordered). Meat was beautifully cooked though. They were obviously short staffed and were doing their best, staff were very attentive despite being busy. In general the service was great besides a forgotten item (which was quickly corrected), drinks slow to arrive and denied request to cut the burger in half but instead gave us a knife to do it ourselves, fine but a bit odd! I hope this is constructive feedback as we really do love it here but it was nowhere near as good as usual.
