   Raices is an unassuming gem. It is set in a local neighborhood next to a huge banyan tree. We were greeted and brought to the back garden. The restaurant itself is well appointed, the garden is like many garden restaurants though, to our delight, we could see the kitchen staff and chef cooking. Now to the point: the food. There were many to choose from, all somewhat familiar Mexican dishes yet with creative twists such as cacao crusted steak with orange marmalade. To add to our experience all staff were excited to share their knowledge of the menu and their pleasures in providing a wonderful experience. In short, go.

   Enjoyed a lovely evening at Raices Resto Bar, an Argentinian style restaurant where all the food is prepared in a wood burning clay oven and grill. This was our second visit to Raices. We are early eaters so when we arrived we were the only ones in the restaurant at 530pm. We were greeted and brought back to our table in the outdoor sitting area. Enrique quickly welcomed us and shared with us the specials for tonight, tuna as the catch of the day and a surf and turf option. Our table overlooked the kitchen area again, allowing us to enjoy watching the staff prepare our meals. Tonight we ordered the grilled ceaser salad and empanadas to share (they even split the salad for us prior to bringing out). We then had the prime organic pork rack, tuna, puréed cauliflower and green salad. We shared the grilled fruit (peach) with ice cream for dessert. Overall, the food, ambience, service and experience were impressive. Once again, the chef came out to greet us and we again shared how much we enjoyed our dinner. If you are looking for an amazing meal, look no further than Raices Resto Bar. It is a must go when in PV. Can’t wait to come back again!

   The food was so exceptional! Everything we ordered was delicious! From the Ceasar salad (char grilled so not at all mundane) to the wonderful free form ravioli with braised short ribs. Packed with flavour and oh so tender pasta. A truly memorable meal. Hope we can get back in before we go. It really was an exceptional dinner!!

   Wonderful experience! Beautiful restaurant. My husband and I shared the grilled Caesar romaine salad which was wonderful. He had the catch of the day, which was tuna, and he loved it. I had the shrimp in house garlic butter sauce with sour purslane and it was fabulous. We will be back! Next time we will have dessert too.

   What a great dining experience in this hidden gem in puerto vallarta. The service, the ambiance and the great food created an incredible and memorable experience. Every dish was creative and amazing. The lobster was amazingly prepared and so was everything else. The three in front of the restaurant and roots of the three in the floor of the entrance make an incredibly beautiful entry and first impression. With that said the food is the center of the experience. All the dishes we had were amazing, pared with incredible wine. Go a little out of the way and try this amazing restaurant ! It’s an incredible and differentiated experience.

    This was our first visit to Raices and it was extremely pleasant. The menu is interesting, with many items that you are pleasantly surprised to see at a high end restaurant (brisket sandwich, with incredibly good bread), the service is immaculate, the setting (we ate on the patio) is lovely and quiet. The only startling item is the glass floor entrance, but remember to ask about it and how it relates to the restaurant's name and all will be resolved. This is a great addition to the restaurants of Puerto Vallarta.
