Several years ago, I decided that my future in the restaurant business would most likely not remain in the realm of fine dining and gourmands, but would rather lean towards the style of restaurant that I found myself frequenting most often - places that provided consistency and quality at a price that was fair for the quality of the food and experience. Public House plays to the comforts of good, solid food, while applying the principles of premium food products to a more casual setting. You will find all the fish is delivered from Foley’s in Boston, high quality steaks and a rotating selection of vegetable sides that are true to the region and season. You’ll also find a really good hamburger and fish sandwich, along with fun snacks and small plates that pair well with cocktails, beer and wine.

We made reservations 3 hours prior to our visit. When we arrived, the table was ready and we were immediately seated. Wait staff was on point. The food was amazing and prepared just as requested. I would recommend Public House to everyone.

Flounder special excellent with sides of cannellini beans and acorn squash. Good value at $16. Service attentive but not overbearing. Ambiance comfortable with reasonable noise levels. Free validated parking in deck.

We came for dinner. We both had drinks and desserts (we did not try an appetizer). I had the pot roast and got roasted beets with goat cheese as an additional side. My partner has the NY strip and fries. Both were delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked and had a nice grilled taste to it. My pot roast portion was nicely sized and had great flavor. We shared the creme brulee and key lime pie for dessert and both were excellent. Service was impeccable, with many great suggestions. This was an elevated dining experience but in a comfortable setting. Highly recommend.

I had the scallops with butternut squash, and my husband had the swordfish special. Our food was beautiful and delicious! And Nick was a great waiter. Very upbeat and helpful!
