Potente is a sophisticated and upscale Italian restaurant located in downtown Houston led by Executive Chef Danny Trace. Every dish is locally sourced and uses only the highest quality ingredients. Try our chef favorite homemade pasta with black truffles shaved table side, petite filet with pistachio gremolata and homemade desserts sure to delight!

Our attire is relaxed formal. Shorts, hats, sneakers, torn clothing and sweat pants not permitted.

    I had a disappointing experience at this place. The atmosphere was extremely noisy and far from cozy, making it hard to have a proper conversation. The mimosa tasted bland, like watered-down champagne, and the octopus was overcooked and dry. To make matters worse, there were constant crowds of people passing by our table, which added to the discomfort. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place.

    Celebrating our anniversary at Potente was like dining in a culinary masterpiece that surely merits a Michelin star. The ambiance, the service, and most importantly, the flavors, composed a symphony of gastronomic delight. As someone not easily impressed, I must confess, this experience was exceptional.

    Overall very good experience. First off the service was excellent throughout. Only one negative was my wife’s duck ravioli (she didn’t like it). All other dishes including appetizers were excellent. Also the tiramisu was quite unique.
