Italian Restaurant& wine bar in Sarasota. Where you are a stranger only once.
His philosophy served him well with his previous Sarasota businesses. Café Gabbiano located on Siesta Key was originated by the Migliaccio family in 2003 where is four sons grew in and out of the restaurant business.
A second venture in downtown Sarasota was opened and designed by Pietro in 2012 named Casantica, a small old house converted to a quaint homey restaurant. Both restaurants are now under new ownership.
Now, this small intimate place is where I can have fun serving and meeting new friends. Benvenuti.

I love it but don’t really want everyone to know how great it is so I won’t be able to get in - it’s basic Italian but their Chicken Parmesan is amazing!

Peter and Susan always make dining at their restaurant a special dinner. Attentive wait staff and terrific menu makes Pietro's a favorite dining spot in Sarasota.

This was our first time to the new location in Sarasota. We always went to the previous location. It was very quaint and decorated very nicely. The service was great! The food was exceptionally good this time. The owner gave us a taste of his homemade wine which was terrific! We had an enjoyable dinner. Can’t wait to return

The food was very good and service was excellent. Limoncello cake was to die for. Once the 2 tables left that were across from ours we could converse easily. Near the end of our visit, a loud table was seated near by. We will still return! Ambiance was cozy.

We usually wait a week or to after opening night to have them work out all the kinks. We went opening night because we knew they would be on point as they always were at previous locations. They did a great job renovating. The food was great and service was excellent. Can’t wait to go back.

We really liked the service and they paid attention to our special occasion note. We received a different bottle of wine than we ordered. No one noticed until we had taken a sip. The bill was adjusted when we found the wine we ordered on the wine menu The lasagna was good but not great and the shrimp fra diablo was just ok. We had such high hopes based on friends’ recommendations but the food didn’t live up to it.
